Saris company history timeline

1974

In 1974, two brothers started Graber Manufacturing to make a roof rack system to carry bikes.

1989

In 1989, Chris and Sara Fortune purchased Graber Manufacturing and rebranded it as Saris.

1994

1994: First US patent for full security bike rack.

1996

In 1996, a new line was introduced called the Bones Rack.

2006

2006: First US patent for two-tiered lift assist bike rack.

2010

2010: Bike Fixtation was founded by Chad DeBaker and Alex Anderson.

2013

2013: Saris Parking became one of Bike Fixtation’s first distributors.

2015

The exhibit was co-developed by the author of Wheel Fever: How Wisconsin Became a Great Bicycling State and will be on display here in Madison through October 10th of 2015.

2017

2017: US provisional patent for temporary bike lane barrier issued for the Wave Delineator.
