About the job The Viya 3.5 Security team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to build and maintain the critical testing and delivery infrastructure that powers our secure software releases. In this role, you'll design and develop automated pipelines, testing frameworks, and tooling that enable our development teams to deliver high-quality, secure software efficiently. You'll work on a wide breadth of projects across SAS' entire portfolio, focusing on test automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and quality assurance infrastructure. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will: * Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate the entire software development lifecycle from build through deployment * Actively engage in agile rituals including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives * Automate security scanning processes, integrating vulnerability detection seamlessly into the development workflow * Develop internal reporting tools and dashboards to provide visibility into test results, code quality metrics, and deployment status * Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product management, security engineers, DevOps, and software developers to identify testing needs and implement automation solutions that improve efficiency and reliability * Participate in architecture and implementation discussions, bringing a quality and automation perspective to technical decisions * Champion testing best practices and help teams shift quality left in the development process * Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals. * Embrace curiosity, passion, authenticity and accountability. Required qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field * 5+ years of professional software development experience * Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles * Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms * Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation * Proven experience developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Selenium, REST Assured) * Experience with Gradle for build automation and dependency management * Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and testing best practices * Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
