What Does A Satellite Communications Operator Do At Centerra Group LLC.

* Stands watch and performs the operational duties required on his/her assigned watch section in the SATCOM Earth Terminal System.
* Performs planned and corrective maintenance tasks on watch as assigned by Watch Leader.
* Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner and in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on communications equipment.
* Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems that can typically be solved by properly evaluating and interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar technical documents.
* Operates, T
* O., tests, aligns, inspects, patches and configures all communications equipment as necessary to meet operational requirements.
* Monitors and maintains all local and remote alarms and other means of notification.
* Assists operators in troubleshooting the problem after receipt of notification, and assists in the correction, where possible.
* Assists in the monitoring all order-wires for queries and ensures that the query is acknowledged to the requestor in the allocated time.
* Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and test equipment must perform all quality control tests and performance monitoring of equipment/systems and antennas to ensure that all equipment is operated at required performance levels.
* Assists the Watch Leader in the preparation of all communication reports

* The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advanceGDMS technologies.

* The SATCOM Technician monitors, analyzes and repairs GDMS engineering, network and Radio Frequency (RF) technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact operations.

* The RF Engineering Technician will be asked to test, and refine specifications and procedures.
* The technician will be tasked with report preparation and documentation of technical issues.
* TheSATCOM Technician configures, tests and analyzes satellite based Digital Signal Processing telecommunications technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact operations.
* The successful candidate will:
* Support overall operational crew activities for a larger system
* Be the system expert in satellite communications discipline
* Support a 24x7 shift schedule
* Report status and discrepancies in system performance in a concise manner
* Investigate and rectify all procedural discrepancies
* Identify areas of process improvement
* Serve as a mentor to junior team members
* This individual will be responsible for:
* Assist in adapting factory delivered processes and procedures as well as identifying and developing required processes and procedures that are not delivered with the system
* Utilizing procedures and concept of operations (CONOPS) to complete daily duties
* Developing and maintaining partnerships across multiple contractor lines

What Does A Satellite Communications Operator Do At University of Colorado

* Supports mission operations concept development.
* Assists with the integration and functional test of the flight and ground segments.
* Conducts real time spacecraft/satellite/instrument flight operations during readiness, test and evaluation, and operational phases.
* Develops plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, and command and control of on-orbit satellites and payloads.
