Job Description
Laboratory Processing Technician
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 9:30a.m. - 6:00p.m. and Saturday 9:00a.m. - 5:30p.m.
This mission-centered role is responsible for processing Autologous Serum Eye Drops for patients while ensuring accurate and complete data. The position directly supports Saving Sight's mission by providing life-changing products to patients nationwide.
Responsibilities:
Handle and process blood products in accordance with established safety and quality standards. Prepare blood components within a laminar flow hood using aseptic techniques.
Package and prepare finished products for distribution and shipment.
Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HIPAA, and all federal and state regulations.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all processes and activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a setting with frequent interruptions or distractions.

This mission centered position works closely with the Patient Services leadership team (lead, supervisor, manager, director) to ensure efficient and effective day to day operations of the Patient Services department by focusing on continuous process improvements and staff development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main point of contact for Patient Services team for daily support and problem solving
Responsible for supporting and maintaining a fully trained team within Patient Services
Ability to perform all roles within Patient Services and challenge current processes to create department efficiencies.
Responsible for ongoing coaching and development to Patient Services staff, supervisor, and leads related to team development and personal growth.
