Cons of working at Scarborough Schools

Very top heavy management, so much so it's not uncommon to question whom your line of surperiors are (to which everyone will have a different answer). Management is closer to a "cool kids club" rather than a functional body. Disturbingly elitist acting mid-upper management whom speak to staff in both a degrading and subservient tone, which will leave you feeling like a student. Lack of coordination. Management grossly overpaid and quick to pass their own raises (Yes a yearly step up of $5000 is a raise, saying you're "declining a raise" of an overall .05% bonus across all steps to "save money" is just a laughable headline the public will read and think "that's so generous of them!" even though they are still getting a raise, admeriable would have been taking a freeze, but people will not notice that. Also, yes boosting your own benefit package is also a raise, adding $25,000 in benefits still costs the tax payer $25,000 even if you never see it/use it). Very toxic environment. Management quickly to create imaginary positions for friends. Administrative assistants (secretaries) have their own secretaries. Little compassion for employees. Frequently threatens employees with outsourcing. Sabotaged certain departments with inadequate staffing. Grossly under pays low tier employees and echos "You should be thankful you have a job." Very little praise or recognition from management, praise may be given if it's a good headline or photo-opp. Doing favors, volunteering, assisting your superiors, catering to management, will not earn you a thanks, rewards, nor brownie points. If you have your eyes set on a position, you may find yourself denied because if you take this new job, no one else will do the extras you were doing. Or maybe you were a minute late for a meeting with your manager because you were helping the same manager with a special task or with some of their work, which by no means was a task you were required by your job description to carry out, nope not a valid excuse, you'll still receive a warning.

Pros of working at Scarborough Schools

Nice modern facilities. Working with youths. Great coworkers/staff (Excluding mid-upper management)

Scarborough Schools benefits

Holidays + Vacations. If you know the right person you'll likely get a cozy position.
