Senior Manager, Technical and Professional Activities
Houston or DFW area (mostly remote with occasional commute into office)

Does working with a mission-based global organization and supporting the oil and gas industry professionals sound rewarding? In this role, you will have overall management responsibilities for the Technical and Professional activities including evaluation and improvement of current programs, and the development of new initiatives to meet the needs of the membership. You will work closely with senior level industry volunteers, committees, board members, other industry organizations and staff in other departments.
Your university degree and 7-10 years of related management experience will be significant in contributing to your success in this role. You bring experience managing staff, as well as projects. Oil and gas industry knowledge is a bonus in supporting our energy experts. If you do not have oil and gas experience, a strong technical background is very helpful. Supporting non-profits or volunteer organizations is preferred.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE IN THIS ROLE
Provides guidance and supports Technical Directors in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities as Committee Board members
Facilitates regular meetings of the Technical Directors including setting the agenda (in coordination with the TD Chair), taking minutes, and completing action items
Advises and supports staff and members to identify gaps in SPE coverage of programs and to initiate and develop new programs
Responsible for technical sections operations, governance, and tools and resources
Responsible for the SPE’s professional development initiatives including the certification program, supporting the US Petroleum Engineering Licensing Exam, and ABET
Provides guidance related to the activities of the Oil and Gas Reserves Committee including the PRMS (Petroleum Reserves Management System) and supporting materials, and the SRMS (Storage Resources Management System)
Responsible for the International Awards program and coordinates with Senior Manager, Member Programs on the Regional Awards program
Develops and monitors budgets with overall financial responsibility for assigned programs
Develops and tests pilot projects
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
7-10 years of related experience including staff and project management in a technical field
Upstream oil & gas, geothermal, CCUS (carbon capture technology), and related industry knowledge is preferred
Experience with non-profit (volunteer) organizations is preferred
Ability to recognize technology and/or industry trends
Strong influencing skills and collaborative workstyle (consultative approach)
Technology skills including MS Office expertise
