Schnabel Engineering is seeking a motivated candidate, Project or Senior Level Geophysicist/Geologist (8+ years), in our Lakewood or Longmont, CO and/or Seattle, WA offices. This position will help support our growing geophysical group that focuses on near-subsurface geophysical investigations to support civil engineering and environmental applications.
This position will consist of all phases of services related to geophysical projects and tasks: business development, scope and proposal development, technical work either onsite or by guiding other staff, data analysis, report writing, invoicing, and project management. In addition, this position includes working closely with the currently east coast-based geophysics group for training, resource sharing, mentoring. This role may also consist of occasionally supporting other groups with project management or related services.

Job Responsibilities:
Preparation of geophysical scopes, proposals, deliverables and reports for a variety of applications, projects, and clients.
Manage, execute, and provide geophysical technical support, in a team setting, and on a variety of challenging geophysical projects.
Communicate with clients, establish goals and objectives for projects, and schedule and coordinate resources, to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the quality expectations of the client.
Perform geophysical field work; train and manage field personnel. Over time, oversee, develop, and mentor geophysical staff.
Participate in the cohesive, positive culture of the geophysical group.
Analyze and process geophysical data, prepare figures; train staff on analysis methods; follow QA/QC of geophysical data and deliverables in accordance with procedures.
Conduct business development activities to grow geophysical opportunities.
Support other groups (dams, geotechnical, tunnels) with project management or related services as the need arises.
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics, Geology or related Science
8 or more years of professional experience for Project and 12+ years of professional experience for Senior with near-surface geophysics for civil engineering and environmental applications
PG and/or PGp Licensure or eligibility to attain within 6-months
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and set and follow your own schedule, and set expectations from supporting staff to meet project deadlines
Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement
Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including out-of-town assignments that may last a few days to weeks, or occasionally longer
Driver's license and ability to drive company or rental vehicles
Ability to lift 50 pounds and be physically able to negotiate undeveloped wooded areas with steep terrain, construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders, and work outside
