**Job Description:**
Welcome to Schnabel Engineering in Blacksburg, Virginia! We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is interested in developing both field and analytical skills, and who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. **Job Responsibilities:**
+ Plan, coordinate, and execute geotechnical field work
+ Use GIS/GPS and related technology to aid in planning and executing geotechnical field work
+ Log test borings in the field
+ Observe geotechnical-related construction and perform materials testing
+ Prepare field reports
+ Use AutoCAD and GIS to create plan sheets and figures for reports
+ Assign and review laboratory tests
+ Interpret data and perform calculations to support geotechnical designs
+ Provide support on preparation of geotechnical reports and proposals
+ Communicate with subcontractors, project managers, and clients about project progress and milestones to facilitate project performance
**Required Skills/Experience:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related major from an ABET-accredited program
+ 0-2 years of professional experience
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
+ Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several weeks to months away from the office
+ Positive, outgoing attitude
+ Ability to coordinate, multi-task, and communicate with subcontractors, managers, and clients by phone, email, video-chat, and other means of communication
+ Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement
+ Valid Driver's License
+ Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, hike difficult terrain, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside
**Desired Skills/Experience:**
+ EIT certification
+ Geotechnical-focused undergraduate coursework is preferred
+ Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e. geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering, etc.)
+ Prior internship experience in construction materials testing
+ Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D or similar drafting programs
**Other Requirements:**
+ Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check
+ Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
The compensation range for this position is between $57,200 to $86,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.

+ Survey interpretation, calculation of quantities, and creation of various other supportive drawings and graphics.
+ Development of geotechnical reports and specifications.

+ Perform and oversee construction observation of specialty geotechnical works and foundation construction.
+ Must be willing to travel; some overnight and out-of-town travel should be expected.
**Required Skills/Experience:**

**Job Description**
As a BMS/Control Systems Design Engineer you will be joining a fun, growing, team of other Electrical and Control System Engineers, Control System Integration Engineers, and Technicians. Your primary role will be designing instrumentation and control systems for Data Centers. Projects range from high level conceptual designs, detailed site designs and retrofits, factory witness testing of equipment, and construction administration and verification. This role will communicate and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, teams, subconsultants, clients, vendors, and contractors to learn, implement, and verify Data Center Building Management Systems are designed and constructed properly. You will be responsible for managing your tasks including the Building Management System (BMS) design, specifications, and drawings. This position may require occasional travel to project sites for meetings, information collection, and construction administration.
Additional duties will include:
+ Selection and specification of process instrumentation.
+ Selection and specification of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment.
+ Selection and specification of networking components and media including copper, fiber, and wireless hardware.
+ Development of control system (BMS) sequences of operations.
+ Submittal review and field inspections.
+ Task Management

**Job Description**
Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for some of the largest and most forward-thinking and desirable companies in the world to work for. The large hyperscale data center campuses we design throughout the U.S. will give you the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects being built today. As a Project Mechanical Engineer on our Data Center team, you will be a part of the firm's largest and most complex projects. You will serve as a project manager on some projects and lead design engineer on others. A typical day includes preparing planning and design documents, processing design calculations, and developing and maintaining team and client standards. You may lead quality assurance/quality control and act as an advisor on complex projects. You will also coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, clients, and other consultants.

Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs.
Provide engineering assistance for the design of best management practices (BMPs), low impact development (LID) solutions, natural stream restoration, and other stormwater related projects.

B.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent with work experience. EIT preferred.

Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred).

The compensation range for this position is between $57,200 to $86,000.â¯Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.

**Job Description**
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer Expert to join our Data Center team and serve as the subject matter expert on hyperscale, mission-critical campus and facility electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and is passionate about supporting project teams with deep technical expertise.
You will be the go-to resource for electrical design strategy, QA/QC oversight, and technical mentorship across high-impact data center projects. Your work will directly influence the reliability, scalability, and innovation of our electrical systems supporting hyperscale clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Serve as the technical lead for electrical systems in hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and emergency power.
+ Provide expert-level guidance on design standards, code compliance (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), and commissioning protocols.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure technical excellence and alignment with client goals.
+ Mentor and support engineering teams, offering technical reviews, troubleshooting, and strategic input.
+ Lead QA/QC processes and ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in mission-critical infrastructure and integrate them into project strategies.

Colorado Pay Range
$150,000-$236,000USD
