1891

Two years later, they created Schneider & Cie.. 1891: Having become an armaments specialist, Schneider innovated by launching itself into the emerging electricity market.

1935

1935: Company is founded in Green Bay.

Al Schneider took a leap of faith in 1935 when he sold the family car to buy our first truck.

1938

It is in September 1938 that Christian Schneider and Erwin Blum set up the company ‘Blum & Schneider OHG – Factory for Screws and Turned Parts’ in Tennenbronn in the Black Forest.

1954

The quality of the ‘good Schneider refill’ is central to the breakthrough of the ballpoint pen, and by 1954, it has made Schneider a leading manufacturer of ballpoint refills.

1957

The introduction of plastic technology alongside traditional metal processing in 1957 enables Schneider to begin producing complete writing instruments.

1971

1971: Don Schneider, son of founder, becomes president.

1978

Following the death in 1978 of the company’s original founder, Christian Schneider, his son Roland takes over as its sole manager.

1981

Schneider electric was founded in 1836 by Eugene Schneider. It was incorporated in 1981.

1982

The state of Wisconsin sued Schneider for $3.8 million in licensing fees in 1982, and the case was eventually settled on appeal in Schneider's favor.

1988

1988: Schneider makes first big investment in satellite technology.

1990

The company began work on a huge facility in Memphis in 1990, building a driver service center and operations center and enlarging an existing maintenance center.

1991

Schneider entered the so-called intermodal transport industry in 1991, working with Southern Pacific railway to serve routes between the Midwest and southern California.

1992

By 1992, Schneider had worked out intermodal shipping agreements with several more railroads, giving it access to most major markets in the United States.

1993

In 1993 the company formed a subsidiary, Schneider Logistics, to in effect sell its shipping expertise to clients.

1993: Valuable subsidiary Schneider Logistics is founded.

1994

Schneider National earned first ISO certification (ISO 9002:1994).

1995

By 1995, Schneider Logistics had 140 contracts, ranging in size from about $2 million for small companies to $200 million for such large firms as General Motors and auto parts maker PPG Industries.

1999

In May 1999 the Group was renamed Schneider Electric, to more clearly emphasise its expertise in the electrical field.

In June 1999, the company launched a new subsidiary, Schneider Brokerage, which handled a web-based service.

1999: Development of Installation, Systems and Control with the acquisition of Lexel, Europe’s number two in electrical distribution.

2000

In June 2000 Schneider Logistics formed an alliance with an online construction service business, ContractorHub.com.

By the year 2000, Schneider's logistics subsidiary had grown so rapidly and profitably that the parent decided to spin it off to the public.

2002

2002Christopher Lofgren named president and CEO on August 2, 2002, succeeding Don Schneider.

2010

In 2010, not just the logo but the entire corporate design is modernised.

2010: Schneider Electric strengthens its lead in the development of the Smart Grid, with the acquisition of the distribution activities of Areva T&D.

2011

Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd was incorporated on March 12 2011 with the name Smartgrid Automation Distribution and Switchgear Ltd.

Subsequently the name of the company was changed to its current name i.e. 'Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd' on December 8 2011 and a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent to change of name was issued by the Registrar of Companies Gujarat Dadar and Nagar Haveli.

2011: Schneider Electric acquires leading software firm Telvent to reinforce its solution capability for the smart grid and mission-critical infrastructure”

2015

It was declared as one of the world’s most admired companies in 2015 by Fortune magazine.

2016

As of 2016, three writing instruments are being produced from this material for retail sale.

It got one of its highest scores in 2016 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the world rank conducted by Corporate Kings.

2020

2022
