For this U. S. based position, the expected compensation range is $86,640-$120,960 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. This position plays a critical role in the laboratories that handle lab testing, developing, operating and maintaining test equipment, resolving equipment issues, designing and implementing of next generation capabilities to improve existing setup. R&D Americas performs R&D projects and delivers innovation in advanced aluminum alloys with special surface characteristics that meet Novelis customers' requirements and supports Novelis manufacturing plants worldwide. The laboratories have a fully equipped corrosion laboratory dedicated specifically to adhesive/aluminum bond durability in extreme conditions. The Corrosion Labs includes 12 humidity chambers, two salt-spray chambers, and three environmental spray chambers. The incumbent will work closely with Surface/Corrosion scientists to conduct research work that would include experiments, testing, data interpretation and data analysis of the samples through various laboratory tests such as neutral salt spray, G85-A2, bond durability testing; surface treatment test such as surface cleaning, chemical pretreatment, anodization and surface chemical coating processes and characterization techniques. A successful candidate will develop an in-depth knowledge of specialized surface treatment/corrosion testing, while providing technical expertise/support to routine tests and non-routine experiments. This role is a full-time on-site role. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan.
