Job DescriptionBuild reliability into every cut
Role: CNC Machine Tool Reliability Mechanic
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (weekends as needed)
Pay: Starting at $23.10-$35.00 per hour, based on experience
A day in the life
At 7:00 a.m., you walk the floor and start with safety: lockout/tagout checks, a scan of active work orders, and a quick touch-base with operators. Before lunch, you've interpreted an electrical schematic to isolate a fault on a CNC, swapped a hydraulic valve after tracing pressure loss on a hydraulic circuit, and aligned a new conveyor during a relocation. The afternoon sees you updating PM records, reading mechanical prints to prep a rebuild, and mentoring teammates on safe troubleshooting practices. You go home knowing the shop runs smoother tomorrow because of the groundwork you laid today.
What you'll take on
Champion safety for yourself, teammates, contractors, and customers; follow company procedures and report hazards.
Keep work areas orderly and aligned with preventive maintenance best practices.
Read and create wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts to diagnose issues quickly.
Lead the installation, removal, and relocation of equipment and supporting utilities.
Interpret and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to determine repair needs.
Apply Lock Out/Tag Out every time service work is performed.
Tackle additional assignments with craftsmanship and urgency.
Must-haves
3+ years in manufacturing maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
3+ years servicing CNC and manual machine tools; high school diploma, trade school certification, or GED preferred.
2+ years troubleshooting/repairing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, as well as heating, cooling, and general building systems.
2+ years reading blueprints, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience using micrometers, gages, meters, calipers, and related precision tools.
Core strengths
Hands-on mechanical aptitude and technical acumen with an eye for safety and continuous improvement.
Self-directed while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
Clear verbal and written communication; proficient in speaking and reading English.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving in fast-paced, technical settings.
Preferences
HS Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Work environment & physical demands
Onsite industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat/cold, fumes, and chemicals.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Kneel, bend, climb ladders, work in confined spaces; walk and stand for extended periods.
Comfort working at heights (e.g., scissor lift).
Union relationship
We proudly partner with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers with a closed shop, which means that all hourly employees are union members.
New employees are probationary for the first 60 working days.
After probation, employees join the union with an initiation.
Union employees receive a full benefits package per the agreement.
Compensation & benefits
Pay range: $23.10-$35.00 per hour, full-time hourly. Actual pay considers skills, experience, training, certifications, and business needs. Geographic differentials may apply. It is not typical to start at the top of the range; offers depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
What we offer: A comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and financial well-being, including medical and prescription coverage, dental and vision, wellness programs, life insurance, a robust 401(k), paid time off, and an employee stock grant.
