Our PM Interns work within SMT's Technology Services team to support efficiency and timely deployment of our products, and collaborate with Engineering, QA, Client Services and Operations to achieve winning results. You will report to our Manager of ProjectManagement.
This is a 6-month internship, beginning in May and concluding in December. It will be a full-time internship in the summer and part-time (10-20 hours a week) internship during the fall semester. We are seeking candidates who can report to our Durham, NC office as needed.
What is Your Daily Impact at SMT?
As a PM Intern, you will team up with your technology services teammates to enhance our processes, products and technology. You will be trained in our projectmanagement systems and as you progress you will contribute to the success of our PM team. Some of the sports you'll support will include Tennis, Football, Basketball, Motorsports and sports utilizing our Video Replay Technology.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines, milestones, staff, and deliverables for assigned projects
* Contributing to organizing testing plans with the Quality Assurance (QA) team
* Collaborating with QA and development resources to ensure all bugs are resolved in time for each software release
* Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team
* Providing thorough, accurate project status reports and updates to the appropriate managers

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. Personal workstation may be located on 2nd floor. The employee works in the office but does have frequent interaction with personnel on the shop floor. The employee may also be required to travel occasionally to work in customers' plants reviewing new applications or on the installation, start-up and commissioning of company products. In plants, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed. All required PPE, including steel toe shoes, must be worn and a clean work environment must be maintained.

Requirements
What You Bring to the Table:
* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field.

* A solid understanding of quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
