Position Purpose:
Under general supervision, performs the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, scrubber, etc.). Maintains the facilities material handling equipment according to an established preventative maintenance schedule and on 'as needed" basis. Observes all safety and regulatory standards. Ensures quality of work product while working in a efficient and timely manner. This position functions as a team member within the department and organization as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the Company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Obtains daily work orders for material handling equipment maintenance and/or repair. Minimize down time for equipment.
Orders necessary parts required to maintain equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance according to equipment standards, guidelines and timeframes.
Ensures batteries and battery charging equipment are properly maintained and functional according to standards.
Maintaining maintenance shop in a clean and orderly manner. Keeps accurate maintenance records and is financially prudent with all expenses incurred.
Follows all safety standards and policies.
Performs all needed general maintenance and repairs for grounds, warehouse, shop and office facilities.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification:
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
Required Experience:
4 - 6 years in material handling equipment maintenance and general maintenance and repairs for large warehouse, fleet shop and office facilities.

Position Overview
As part of our dedicated team, the Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and effectively operating heavy equipment to load, offload or transport landscape supplies such as mulch, topsoil, soil amendments, and raw materials. The Headlines:
In the Part-Time Heavy Equipment Operator Temp role at Shenandoah Brewery working in Elkton, Virginia you will be part of the brewery customer service team. The Heavy Equipment Operator position is responsible for the movement and spotting of containers to facilitate the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage, for thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning, and for performing the following duties.
This position reports to the Process Leader of Customer Service and works closely with warehouse, dispatch, brewery and packaging departments.
The Responsibilities:
Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily involving loaded and empty containers.
Drive and operate Yard Truck in a safe manner, under 10 mph in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area.
Be cognizant that the Yard Truck vehicle operation is a low mileage severe duty function that requires particular attention to preventive maintenance checks and services as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance.
Regularly inspect vehicle and report any vehicle maintenance issues.
Operate locomotive in safe and efficient manner. Duties include staging of railcars at loading docks, liquid adjunct steaming station, and inside grain handling building.
When operating locomotive, operator must have knowledge of proper rail switch alignments and rail condition verification. Operator will also be required to perform duties of a rail brakeman. Requires solid communication skills with locomotive engineer and knowledge of proper switch alignment.
Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant needs.
Must function and interact with plant personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
Communicate with dispatch, operations, and plant personnel using cellular telephone or 2-way radio.
Requires ability to update transactions in SAP.

* Inspect and document work area for safety/environmental concerns.
