Position: Warehouse Order Picker/Packer Part Time Seasonal
Pay Rate: $16.00 an hour
Shift Hours: Mon through Fri -7:00 am to 3:30 pm (start time is flexible and can be 9 am or 10am if needed)
Each year Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools across the country, hosts more than 100,000 book fair events that give more than 35 million students and their families access to thousands of affordable and educational products, helping foster a lifelong love of reading.
We are currently in search of Part Time Seasonal Warehouse associates to help our facilities build book fairs for schools. These part-time seasonal positions offer a variety of hours to work during the peaks of the school year (Monday-Friday) and are typically off during summer and winter school leave periods. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the production of book fairs, by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, according to corporate process and procedure and meeting productivity and quality standards.
Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for all cases, boxes, and displays.
Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for the work performed.
Ensure condition of all outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition.
Assist in the processing of returned book fairs, by unpacking metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, according to corporate process and procedure and meeting productivity and quality standards.
Monitor inventory levels on applicable component product lines to ensure book fairs can be properly packed.
Learn and demonstrate basic scanner proficiency, i.e. item inquiries and requesting replenishment of Pick locations.
Assist in the picking and packing of customer reorders
Ensure that your work area is neat, clean, safe, and organized at all times.
Individually, and in partnership with other co-workers, perform seasonal inventory production-line resets.
Learn and demonstrate proficiency in all Fair Finishing and Assembly functions, including the Quality Assurance scanning functions.
Participate and assist in Physical Inventory functions, including the counting of inventory.Participate and assist in conducting Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise at all times.
Ensure that all warehouse equipment and tools are properly utilized to increase productivity, efficiency, and safety; report any unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or injury (to self or co-worker) to your supervisor or manager immediately.
Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects, climbing ladders and pushing/pulling display cases.
Accurately and timely complete Labor Data Collection Cards to according to company standards.
May operate motorized pallet jacks upon successful completion of the SBF power equipment training program.
Maintain attendance and punctuality as required by assigned work schedule and within company standards.
Maintain a courteous and positive relationship with all co-workers and customers.
Drug and alcohol free policy compliance.
Other duties as assigned.

As these brands grow and evolve in the ever-changing educational landscape, the Copywriter will play a crucial part in the creative discovery/learning/testing of three businesses. In addition to continuing to contribute to the incredible success of the Book Fairs business, the Copywriter's efforts toward innovating new brand attributes, language, and messaging for Book Clubs, Storyvoice, and Scholastic Dollars-including ensuring each brand is distinct to consumers-will have an enormous long-term impact on the success of these brands and their impression in the marketplace.
The Copywriter will collaborate closely with the Creative Marketing team partners to brainstorm creative concepts and ensure there is synergy between copy, content, design, and UX across all SRE deliverables. They will also assist with the management and implementation of copy content tools and processes cross-functionally, and provide support to Editorial Team staff, contractors, and freelancers, as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Associate Editorial Director and work closely with other members of the Editorial, Creative, and Marketing teams on day-to-day ideating, content creation, and copywriting across SRE.
Workflow responsibilities primarily include, but are not limited to, copywriting for Direct Marketing, Site Content Marketing, Loyalty Management, Customer Experience and Journeys, and EComm for three brands: Book Fairs, Book Clubs, and Storyvoice.
Strong collaboration on the brand work (innovation and maintenance) in response to educational trends and customer insights while ensuring that all three SRE brands are distinct from and complement each other. The Copywriter will play a key role helping to draft and track the communication our consumers need to delineate between these brands.
Help with the management and implementation of copy content tools and processes cross-functionally, as well as provide support to Editorial Team staff, contractors, and freelancers, across SRE as needed.
Work independently and in collaboration with Marketing, Project Management, Digital, and in particularly close concert with Creative Marketing (design, UX) partners to define strategy and creative for multimedia content across multiple customer touch points, with opportunities to flex into a senior Editorial stakeholder role.
Stay up-to-date on book industry news and trends, the latest individual titles offered at Fairs, Clubs, and Storyvoice, and Book Fair host chatter via shared subscriptions to trade publications, internal communications from Product, and regular updates around our Closed Facebook Group.

Hours: Per Diem consultants are scheduled on an as-needed basis, paid hourly. Schedule is highly dependent on customer demand - professional development is usually scheduled with partners during normal school hours. Our peak times of the year include August through October and then again January and February, although we deliver professional development throughout the school year.
Given the as-needed and heavily seasonal nature of this role, we do not recommend that you maintain a full-time role that operates during school hours, simultaneous with the Per Diem Educational Consultant role at Curriculum Associates.

The purpose of this position is to spread the message of the restored Church of Jesus Christ around the world. Some Church messages are delivered as music via print, web, app/mobile, social media, streaming, and other delivery channels in 100+ languages.
This position is a part of the Publishing Services Department (PSD) of the Church. The PSD charter states that the department will "provide digital asset management system leadership and related support.” The Asset Manager fulfills this role by managing born digital media files, ingesting media into various PSD systems, preparing them for editing and other post-production workflows, finding and moving files as requested by production teams, and publishing music assets to Church platforms. The asset manager also manages metadata in asset management systems.
This Music Asset Manager 3 position is housed within the Scripture and Music Production Division, specifically within the Music Translation and Publishing Section and would be tasked with supporting the Music Publishing team. This position reports to the Senior Music Publisher for the Church. The asset manager would responsibly manage and maintain files and prepare approved materials for publishing by helping input and maintain the databases that store and deliver music media to Church channels. The material produced, managed, and published by this group includes print sheet music such as hymns, magazine music, youth music, special events, etc. Audio is not produced by the Music Publishing team, but the team does house, manage, and distribute all audio assets for Church channels.
This is a fully-benefited, time-bound role with an expected end date of June 30th, 2030. This role can be fully remote. The ideal candidate for this role would be available to begin in a full-time capacity on or before May 5th, 2025. The starting salary range is between 70K-80K, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
The two primary responsibilities of this position include 1) asset management of musical assets on the back end and 2) publishing assets to church distribution channels and/or streaming platforms (i.e. Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). Work is assigned on a project basis internally based on individual product needs.
40% Perform duties of an Asset Management Specialist 1 and 2 as a project requires, such as organizing, cataloging, and or ingesting media. Best practices are required, including following file naming conventions, organizational skills, etc.
40% Prepare, monitor, and distribute client-approved products to Church channels through management of the music database.
5% Assist in database cleanup and preservation of assets per requests of management.
5% Understand the business requirements of a project and translate them into an asset management plan and requirements for complex projects (projects with a variety of asset types, multiple deliverables, crossing divisions, or atypical specifications and/or metadata schema).
10% Exercise stewardship over server workspaces and usage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information or archival management, museum studies, library science, audio or multimedia production, or related field, and at least four years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of digital asset management; understanding of best practices in related field.
Detail-oriented, with an ability to notice small details within assets, which may impact publishing systems later in the pipeline.
Able to quickly understand how several complex systems/databases work together - in other words, the “big picture.”
Previous work in a music or multimedia production setting, quality control, library/archives or other relevant experience with organizing, editing & sorting data, and using spreadsheets and databases is preferred.
Intermediate understanding of database organization and/or advanced archival processes.
Able to apply sound judgment and leadership on large, complicated projects. Ability to multitask and juggle multiple projects/responsibilities at once and keep on schedule.

Requirements:
BS/BA in Computer Science or a related discipline
Minimum 6 years of experience
Technical background, experience with software development
Proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Jira and Smartsheet (preferred)
Strong communication skills
Highly organized

This position is a remote position.
Minimal travel - approximately 10%
Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
