Transportation - School Bus Driver
School bus driver job in Frisco, TX
Reports To Routing Supervisor Work Year Days 177 Primary Purpose Transport students safely and efficiently from one location to another. Qualifications Education/Certification:High school diploma or GED Valid CDL with Air Brake, Passenger and School Bus Endorsements, or willingness and ability to obtain Current Texas School Bus Safety Certification or willingness and ability to obtain
Current First Aid and CPR
Special Knowledge/Skills: Capable of responding in emergency situations
Ability to pass annual DOT Physical, FISD Dexterity Test, and random drug testing
Ability to physically perform a front and back door bus evacuation, CPR, and First Aid techniques on the ground and floor
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
Ability to maneuver effectively in a school bus
Flexible and open to schedule change
Positive and encouraging person who is able to promote a healthy work environment
Drivers will be assigned to general ed or Special Needs
Special Needs drivers will require knowledge and training in BESI seats, safety vests, wheelchair securement procedures and oxygen buddy systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
Complete required paperwork and documentation on time.
Keep bus clean inside and out.
Fuel the bus.
Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
Report any mechanical problems with the bus.
Complete monthly bus counts.
Maintain accurate route descriptions.
Must be punctual and have good attendance.
Follow Frisco ISD policies and state of Texas school bus driver laws and Texas CDL laws.
Maintain a positive relationship with Frisco ISD staff, students, and the public.
Other Duties as Assigned
