NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
To transport pupils in a safe and efficient manner and perform all activities related to the operation of the school bus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Substitute School Bus shall:
Hold and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License, with “S”, Passenger, and Air Brake Endorsements, with no serious violations.
Have a minimum of three years' previous safe driving experience.
Have sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems and make appropriate repairs.
Have the ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure their safety and well-being and protect against vandalism.
Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education, or, during the initial six month period provide a sworn statement that there have not been any convictions of a crime or a disorderly persons offense in accordance with 18A:6-7.1.
Provide information that includes current/former employers within the last twenty (20) years in which the employment involved direct contact with children; a written authorization that consents to current and former employers disclosing certain information; and a written statement as to whether the applicant has any employment history regarding child abuse and/or sexual misconduct in accordance with N.J.S.A.18A:6-7.6.
Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6:3-4A.4.
Provide a Department of Transportation physical by a State Certified Physician.

Reports all accidents and pupil injuries and completes required reports.
Participates in emergency evacuation drills in accordance with board policy, and instructs passengers regarding safety regulations and other bus rules.
Performs interior bus cleaning duties daily, cleans windows and exterior as needed.
Performs light maintenance as necessary. Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor, and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Transportation/School Bus Aide Date Available: Ongoing Additional Information: Show/Hide SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL BUS AIDE QUALIFICATIONS: HS Graduate Possess good character, reputation, physical and mental health RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain order and discipline on bus.
Learn and administer rules and regulations pertaining to safety and conduct of students.
Take immediate action to stop behaviors that violate bus rules.
Report violations to Transportation Director and/or School Principal if necessary.
Maintain confidentiality when reporting or discussing problems or concerns that arise with students.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned.
SALARY AND SCHEDULE: Approved hourly rate, 5 hours per day - morning and afternoon runs; 10-month position
