Job Description
Responsibilities:
Maintain the safety, security and control of a Brink's owned or leased 24-foot dry van straight truck while driving to and from various customer pick-up and delivery locations
Guard the customer liability during the actual delivery or pick up of valuables at a customer's location
Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while performing daily customer interactions
Load and unload the truck
Maintain radio communication with the branch and/or dispatch personnel
Report all faults or discrepancies experienced during the day's activity
Complete appropriate driving/delivery documentation
Ensure overall cleanliness of the vehicle's interior
Observe all security and safety procedures
Able to work weekends, holidays and/or extended hours
Cross-train and perform oter duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities:
Annual Review and Training:
Participate in an annual review, including onboard observation of your road performance by a State Certified School Bus Instructor.
Attend a combination of annual classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training to ensure:
Safe and efficient vehicle operation.
Proficiency in running a fixed route, including loading, and unloading children, stopping at railroad crossings, and performing other specialized driving maneuvers.
Basic first aid administration in case of injury.
Emergency procedures, including vehicle evacuation.
Operation of special equipment like wheelchair lifts and restraints.
Driving the Route:
Assist the Bus Aide in ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
Follow the safest and most efficient assigned route, as determined by the Lead Bus Driver, the Transportation & Facilities Manager, and the Area Manager.
Maintain the route schedule and inform parents of stop locations and times.
Ensure children are properly restrained before starting the bus engine in the afternoon.
Ensure that children are released only to authorized individuals.
Safely load and unload children as per Centro's Transportation Manual.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain all vehicle fluid levels.
Keep the vehicle interiors clean.
Clean the vehicle exterior as weather allows.
Other Duties:
Provide support for center-level Parent Night's by offering transportation or other assistance as assigned.
Perform a daily playground health and safety checklist when assigned by the Lead Bus Driver.

Under the guidance of the Bus Driver, this position requires the ability and willingness to assist in various assigned areas. The primary focus is to ensure the health and safety of children during bus transportation.
Key Areas of Responsibility on the Bus:
Assist the Bus Driver in maintaining the safety and well-being of children, by providing direct supervision and actively engaging with children.
Ensure accurate sign-in and sign-out of each child on the Daily Bus Sign In/Sign Out form, tracking the number of children on the bus. Submit completed forms to the Office Manager every Monday for the previous week's logs.
Properly use seat harnesses, securely loading and unloading children while following safety procedures. Conduct counts using the Daily Children Sign In/Out Form and perform the Bus Unloading Procedure.
Maintain constant accountability on the bus, releasing children only to authorized individuals. Conduct a final check at the end of each route to ensure no children are left behind.
Independently count children upon arrival at the center before unloading, remaining on the bus until receiving confirmation that all children are accounted for.
Conduct a thorough visual check of the bus interior, under seats, and in every seat, ensuring no child is left behind. Perform the Post Trip Inspection procedure before moving the bus from the loading zone.
Foster a positive, warm, caring, and respectful environment on the bus, promoting positive interactions with children.
Demonstrate awareness and responsiveness to children's needs, encouraging freedom of expression. Implement age-appropriate learning activities based on the curriculum and School Readiness Plan.
Set clear behavioral expectations, using positive methods to prevent and redirect misbehavior. Handle disciplinary issues immediately and appropriately without resorting to yelling or threats.
Serve as a good language model, using correct grammar, appropriate voice levels, and clear speech, as trained.
Assist in implementing learning activities for special needs children with IFSPs/IEPs, as trained.
Take primary responsibility for maintaining bus cleanliness and sanitation according to Centro's Transportation Manual.
Complete child incident reports occurring on the bus, submitting them to the child's Family Service Specialist.
Demonstrate proficiency in emergency evacuation procedures and be aware of the location of emergency equipment.
Maintain confidentiality regarding family and children matters.
Fulfill other duties in support of the center as requested.

Student Transportation of America is growing! We are seeking a safe driver to transport children to and from school each day on established routes. Additional extracurricular runs (sports and field trips) and charter work may also be available. Typical runs are morning and afternoon and average 25 to 30 hours per week. Competitive hourly wages. This is a great job for stay at home parents, retirees, or anyone looking for extra income. Experienced bus drivers that have a CDL with P and S endorsements are preferred, but we will also provide PAID training for good drivers without school bus experience. Candidates will need have a clean driving record with a least three years personal driving experience, be able to pass a DOT physical, pre employment drug test and criminal background check and be over 21 years of age.
