Substitute School Bus Driver (Substitute placement is an on-call, as needed basis.) is not eligible for benefits or union membership Under the direction of the Lead Driver, the candidate will support safe and efficient operations of student transportation. Report any malfunction and needed repairs to supervisor or maintenance staff. This would include the compiling of the daily bus logs from all drivers on a daily basis. Drive campus routes and do charters for departments and graduation work for Stony Brook University. Wash, sweep, clean and fuel buses, as well as vans and other state vehicles. In an emergency situation, the driver may be required to perform some minor repairs such as replace a bulb, put air into tires, replace windshield wiper blades, etc... May map routes, itineraries, and points of call for other drivers as well as yourself. Transport vehicles to and from vendors for repairs. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
