The Specialized Transport Driver will safely operate a commercial industrial carrier or tractor trailer combination with a GVWR rating in excess of 33,000 lbs. Essential Duties Report each scheduled day, on-time, ready and able to work, well-groomed and in uniform. Identify to the Dispatcher that you are available to work. Perform vehicle inspection sheet daily, identifying any mechanical issues. Responsible to follow all Company and DOT rules and regulations regarding the safe operation of the truck. Inspect all supplied tools such as chains, straps, and cables to ensure equipment is in a good and safe condition. Report any issue that restricts the ability to complete the dispatch in a timely manner. Ability to drive and perform duties via interstate for towing, recovery, and/or transport. Other duties as assigned. Competencies and Abilities Safety is our number one priority. Ability to use GPS, company-issued software, mobile device Time management skills Basic mechanical skills and ability to use tools Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting work, hours, and information Qualifications, Education, and Experience Commercial Class A driver's license - CDL for Heavy Transport Positions 22 Years of Age High school diploma or GED (preferred), At least two (2) years of heavy hauling / commercial driving experience Physical Requirements Job requires lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending and reaching, climbing. Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, working outdoors in the environment can be exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. Ability lifting over 50lbs is a job requirement must not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights.
