Bus Driver positions are located at Grangeville and at Kooskia.
Rate of pay for All Driving (Substitute or Activity) is $23.00 per hour.
* Drivers must complete 10 hours of bus training.
* The District will cover the cost of a DOT drug test, which must be completed upon hire.
* The District will reimburse the driver for their 1st year CDL license and endorsements.
* The District will reimburse the driver for the cost of their DOT physical.
* The driver is responsible for payment of a background record check, which must be completed upon date of hire.

C. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus by enforcing bus rules and following the disciplinary policies and procedures approved by the District. Bus drivers will not grab/touch students, swear at students, call students names, etc.
D. Reports unruly students to the proper authority using a citation system and following District disciplinary policies and procedures.
E. Keeps assigned bus clean.
F. Stays on assigned route schedule. Notifies proper authorities when late.
G. Performs pre-trip inspections of bus before each operation for mechanical/safety defects. Notifies proper authority in case of mechanical failure.
H. Picks up and discharges students only at regular stops (school or home stop) unless otherwise authorized.
I. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. Knows and follows District policy for activity runs.
J. Transports authorized students only.
K. Reports all accidents and completes required paperwork.
L. Maintains daily log on District form of pupils transported on the bus. Hands completed log form to the Transportation Supervisor at the end of each week. Completes bus log report and pre-trip inspections report.
M. Completes other forms as required, including but not limited to: worksheets for computing bus charges for extra runs; monthly reports on bus condition and repair recommendations, certificates of bus evacuation drills, etc.
N. Knows and follows District policies and rules governing personnel safety and safety of students. The safety of students being transported is our primary concern.
O. Attends New Driver Training (40 hours); Refresher Training (6 hours); First Aid/CPR Training; and all other training required by the District for Bus Drivers.
P. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

VIII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a part-time on call position during the school year. The rate of pay is a grade 8 $20.07 per hour depending on experience.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. This "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
IX. EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Transportation Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.

Administers the school bus transportation program within the assigned district, implementing regulations, policies, and procedures supporting the State Department of Education (IDE).
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per IDE and District Standards.

The incumbent will be required to travel annually for local, state and national training conferences as well as IAPT competitions.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

* Certification of good health signed by a District designated physician who is licensed to practice in Idaho. Must be physically capable of performing assigned duties.
* Permit to operate a school bus, issued by the District, to be carried by the driver at all times.
* Ability to complete required paperwork.
* Clean driving record, no traffic tickets or chargeable accidents for the last three years.
* No convictions for DUI involving alcohol or drugs.
* Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
* Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

* JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test.
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the District's curriculum and extracurricular program.
* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Obeys all traffic laws.
* Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Knows and follows all laws, rules and regulations governing the operation of school buses as specified in the Idaho State Transportation Manual, as amended by State or Federal laws.
* Maintains discipline when students are on the bus by enforcing bus rules and following the disciplinary policies and procedures approved by the District. Bus drivers will not grab/touch students, swear at students, call students names, etc.
* Reports unruly students to the proper authority using a citation system and following District disciplinary policies and procedures.
* Keeps assigned bus clean.
* Stays on assigned route schedule. Notifies proper authorities when late.
* Performs pre-trip inspections of bus before each operation for mechanical/safety defects. Notifies proper authority in case of mechanical failure.
* Picks up and discharges students only at regular stops (school or home stop) unless otherwise authorized.
* Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. Knows and follows District policy for activity runs.
* Transports authorized students only.
* Reports all accidents and completes required paperwork.
* Maintains daily log on District form of pupils transported on the bus. Hands completed log form to the Transportation Supervisor at the end of each week. Completes bus log report and pre-trip inspections report.
* Completes other forms as required, including but not limited to: worksheets for computing bus charges for extra runs; monthly reports on bus condition and repair recommendations, certificates of bus evacuation drills, etc.
* Knows and follows District policies and rules governing personnel safety and safety of students. The safety of students being transported is our primary concern.
* Attends New Driver Training (40 hours); Refresher Training (6 hours); First Aid/CPR Training; and all other training required by the District for Bus Drivers.
* Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
* Has regular and predictable attendance.
* OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
* ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION BUS DRIVERS:
* Knows and follows Appendix P of the Idaho State School Transportation Manual for Special Education Bus Operations.
* Operates the wheelchair lift.
* OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVERS WHEN NOT REQUIRED TO DRIVE:
* Cleans and refuels buses as assigned.
* Performs clerical duties in the Maintenance and Transportation Departments as needed.
* Gives telephone support to the Maintenance and Transportation Departments as needed.
* Performs all other duties as assigned.
* TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The exact terms of this position will be determined by the needs of the District and budgetary constraints. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 8 - Grade 11 ($20.07 - $23.92) depending experience and on continuous years of service with D91.
0 to 1 completed years of continuous service - Grade 8
2 completed years of driving school bus (at least 1 year in D91) - Grade 9
5 to 6 completed years of driving school bus - Grade 10
10+ completed years of driving school bus - Grade 11
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. This "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
* EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Transportation Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.
