Completing necessary reports and paperwork. * Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Transit Supervisors and the Operations Manager. Education, Experience, Licensing Minimum Requirements * Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED. Driver's License: * Possession of a valid Class A or B CDL with no Air Brake restriction and Passenger Endorsement, OR valid Class A or B CDL Permit with no Air Brake restriction and Passenger Endorsement prior to offer. * Must obtain a Florida CDL Class B License with Passenger Endorsement and no Air Brake restriction within 30 days of hire date. (Training and testing provided by LeeTran staff.) Safety-Sensitive Position: * Transit Bus Drivers must be able to pass a Florida Department of Transportation Medical Examination and maintain a current medical card. This is a safety-sensitive position that is subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation CFR-Part 40, 49 CFR Part 655. Supplemental Information * Must be able to exercise independent judgment in daily activities and be sensitive to passengers with various disabilities on a daily basis. * Must be able to drive in all weather conditions and in darkness. * Ability to provide exceptional customer service to the public and fellow employees. * One year of experience in the operation of a bus or heavy automotive equipment is preferred. Operating schedule: * LeeTran operates seven days a week, including some holidays. Normal hours of operation are 4:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., with extended hours during seasonal service. * Shifts and assignments:Day and evening shifts available. Shift schedules vary, and routes are selected by seniority at least semi-annually.
