Summary:

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 25 years of age or older.
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED AND at least two years of experience with children.
Complies with all company and state-specific standards and maintains validation of required credentials for the position including a Commercial Driver's License with valid passenger and schoolbus endorsements.
Ability to successfully pass state and federal background checks.
Maintain a driving record acceptable to Spring Education Group.
Must be able to carry or lift 25 pounds or less (25-50%) often and 25-50 pounds (10-25%) occasionally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Know and follow all policies and procedures of the Thomaston-Upson County Board of Education, Georgia Department of Transportation, and Georgia Department of Driver Services.
Adhere to guidelines set forth in the Transportation Department's handbook.
Drive any bus assigned and allow the assigned bus to be used as deemed necessary by the Transportation Director or his/her designee.
Accept route changes when deemed necessary by the Director, in a positive, teamwork-oriented manner.
Follow established policies of the Board of Education and Director with regard to the proper use of leave time.
Assist the Director or his designee in emergency situations which involve transporting students, use of bus, etc.
Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to the assignment.
Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures.
Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies and administrative directives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Driver's license must be a Commercial Drivers License, with additional passenger and schoolbus endorsements
Must submit to and pass an annual schoolbusdrivers physical examination, including random drug/alcohol testing.
Must meet any other qualifications set by the Georgia Department of Transportation, Georgia Department of Driver Services and the state and local boards of education policies.
Must have and maintain a safe driving record.
Ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community.
High integrity, excellent character, and good professional reputation.
Abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.

Assist client(s) in achieving success providing support in social and physical needs as required.
Provide appropriate behavior supports as communicated by your supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist student in boarding and exiting the bus safely
- Secure seat belts, car seats, safety harnesses and other applicable safety mechanisms as required
- Maintain student safety during transit
- Provide supervision and support to student
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with student, guardian(s), staff
- Report any instances of behavioral or safety concerns to ABASS and the appropriate school contact immediately
- Assist student during emergency evacuation and drills
Hours are 7:40 AM to 8:45 AM and 2:10 PM to 3:15 PM - Monday through Friday.
Requirements
Must have own transportation.
Must provide proof of vehicle registration and insurance card.
Must check email correspondence daily.
Must pass all required background checks per ABASS, state and/or school district policy.
Previous experience working in a reputable clinic, home, or school program is highly desirable.
1 year clinical/home/school experience providing direct services to children with Autism, training parents, and supervising staff in the implementation of intervention protocols, is highly desired.
Exceptional interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Motivated, excellent work ethic, high degree of quality work and work with minimal direction; must be flexible and patient.
Ability to maintain composure and positive interaction with student.
A High School Diploma, or equivalent required.
