What You'll Do - Accountabilities:
Safely transports students
Drives a schoolbus safely in accordance with time schedules; transporting students to and from their homes, a variety of school sites, and on field trips as assigned
Maintains order and proper discipline of passengers; resolving disputes, documents and reports severe disciplinary cases
Conducts established safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily
Understands the basics of transporting students
Oversees the loading and unloading of students, releasing students to authorized individual, and assures that safety belts are fastened in passenger vans
Maintains a variety of records and reports including but not limited to mileage, routing, maintenance, and time schedules
Notifies appropriate individuals of any delays in scheduled route
Ensure to always have proper credentials (CDL, Medical Card, & Region One) updated accordingly to DOT and IDEA policy
Must be able to understand and take directions and feedback well
Have an open communication channel with managers of campuses they drive
Able to accept negative and positive feedback
Able to self -reflect on own performance to improve the operation
Must manage multiple tasks by prioritizing work
Needs to adapt to changing circumstances while performing various tasks
Handle various tasks simultaneously within established time constraints
Be able to work on an open calendar
Able to work on evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.
Expected to work a minimum of 32 hours per week - Not including Extra Curricular Activities assigned by campus

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Ride buses and helps driver ensure safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Required

Able to work with children, including children with special needs
Twenty-one (21) years of age or older
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Supervise students as they board and exit the bus.
• Monitor students in the bus and makes sure students leave the bus in a safely and orderly manner (No child left behind).
• Report daily to assigned bus on time.
• Assist students in getting on and off the bus.
• Keep students in their assigned bus seats.
• Observe safety precautions and bus seat regulations.
• Drill students in emergency exits and bus safety rules.
• Make the students feel comfortable.
• Responsible for students if the busdriver needs to leave the bus.
• Maintain a business relationship with students, driver, parents, and campus staff.
• Report misbehaving students to the busdriver and appropriate campus personnel.
• Assist busdriver in managing behavior.
• Assist students with seat belts, vests, and wheelchair restraints.
• Install and maintain car seats, and all related hardware (with Region One ESC training).
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the bus for students and employees.
• Maintain daily logs including parent contacts, attendance, and IEPs.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to self and/or to others.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED: Wheelchair lifts, ramps, seat belts, car seats, locks, and special needs adaptive equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
• Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing
and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around vehicles and
machinery with moving parts; moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and vehicle fumes. Ability
to assist students during emergency evacuations including lifting students, and moving incapacitated students to a safe location.
