Qualifications:
+ 21 years or older

+ Availability to work during the day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as assigned.
+ Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Job Goal:
To provide safe and efficient transportation for District students. During the time the prospective substitute is in training to obtain the NV Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and NV Dept. of Education endorsement, NCSD will pay the hourly rate of $20.10. Total training time for class and driving is 40 hours. In addition, NCSD will reimburse prospective substitutes for the cost of the license application fees and the physical exam. In exchange for the above, the prospective substitute bus driver will sign a contract agreeing to provide substitute bus driving services to NCSD for the period of 24 months. Substitute positions may become full-time depending upon need.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent;
Must pass a reference check, mandatory fingerprint background check, and drug and alcohol testing;
Must be at least 21 years of age;
Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records;
Must be physically qualified to drive a school bus in accordance with FMCSA Physical Qualifications and Examinations;
Must have a current, valid Class B CDL license issued by Nevada or a border state with a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement;
Must provide a 10-year driver DMV printout;
Must provide Nye County School District with a list of all violations as required by FMCSA §391.27; and
