Safely drives a school bus on days when school is in session in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading students at designated locations.

2025-2026 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess or be able to obtain a valid license to drive a school bus, which includes Class B CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brakes. In addition, possess or obtain an Oklahoma SDE school bus driver Certification by attending the school bus driver training (if necessary); Such additional health and age requirements as the board may require.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
4. Reports undisciplined students to the building administrator.
5. Keeps assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps to assigned schedule.
7. Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
8. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
9. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
11. Transports only authorized students.
12. Reports all accidents to the Director and the Police, and completes required reports.
13. Enforces regulations against smoking, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking on the bus.
14. Enforces bus riding regulations established by the Director or the state.
15. Abides by all district policies and state and federal laws.
16. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climb stairs.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to support and stabilize students with physical disabilities.
Ability to work in all weather conditions
