Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation, operate a schoolbus over designated routes to transport school children and to do related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Licenses and Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid State of California Class B driver's license and CaliforniaSchoolBusDriver Certificate. Acquire and maintain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate or endorsement by the California Highway Patrol within six months of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical abilities include the usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions and require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching; reaching, handling, touching and/or feeling; manual dexterity to operate a bus, climb steps, and reach overhead. Amador County Unified School District has two comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school, two junior high schools and six elementary schools.
DEFINITION Under general supervision, to operate a schoolbus over designated rural, mountainous routes in transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school; to drive students to and from special events without designated routes; and to perform related work as required. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS Positions in this class perform schoolbus driving duties over mountainous terrain and under extremes of weather. Incumbents are expected to make decisions pertaining to the safety of student riders relevant to road and climate conditions affecting safety. Fitting and removing bus tire chains weighing approximately 80 pounds is expected of incumbents. Cooperative route changes may be made by incumbents in order to maximize the efficiency of remote area coverage. Cooperative changes in routes may be accomplished to cover incumbent absences. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES • Drives a bus daily or as assigned over designated rural and mountainous routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and/or discharging students; • Stops traffic as necessary to escort students safely across streets; • Changes tire chains as may be necessary to maintain traction on ice and snow covered roads; • Transports students, faculty and parents on field trips to special events, meeting departure and arrival times as scheduled; • Maintains buses and other vehicles in a clean and safe condition, such as cleaning, sweeping and washing buses and minor seat repairs; • Maintains good order among students on the buses and while waiting at the bus stops; • Follows District policies regarding the disciplining of students; • Fuels vehicles; • Checks oil, fluid levels and safety equipment; • May leave bus at end of route, connecting engine warming cables, securing bus and/or driving District vehicle to District or to home; • Instructs students in various aspects of passenger and pedestrian safety; • Conducts bus evacuation training; • If passengers are handicapped, provides special care and assistance as appropriate; • Keeps records of the operation of assigned vehicles as required by the District; • Completes daily reports on the operating condition and/or defects of an assigned bus; • Conducts daily safety inspections of assigned bus before beginning the route; • Attends retraining and driver's skills improvement sessions as assigned; • Administers first aid to students; • Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, city and District regulations applicable to the position; • May perform driver training duties; • Performs related work as required. LICENSE REQUIRED Possession of a valid and appropriate CaliforniaDriver's License; Successful completion of the Driving and First Aid examinations for schoolbusdrivers given by the California Highway Patrol; Possession of valid CaliforniaSchoolBusDriver's Certificate. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code, the California Education Code, and current city and District regulations applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting students and faculty; Operation of a bus; Basic first aid; Basic bus maintenance procedures; Simple record keeping; Appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Ability to: Maintain vehicles in a clean and safe condition; Maintain simple records; Monitor and control student passengers' behavior Perform first aid, as needed; Operate a vehicle observing legal and defensive driving practices; Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position. A typical qualifying entrance background is not less than 40 hours of behind-the-wheel experience as a schoolbusdriver; and Completion of coursework as described above. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires the prospective employee to pass a pre-employment physical. Physical Requirements: 1. Employee lifts/carries 65 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the time). 2. Employee lifts/carries 15 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time). 3. Employee lifts/carries 5 pounds constantly (67-100% of the time). 4. Employee's position requires pushing a maximum force of 67.2 pounds on objects. 5. Employee's position requires pulling a maximum force of 80 pounds on objects. Mobility: Positions in this class require the mobility to stand, stoop, reach and bend. The Statement of Faith outlines the beliefs of TM Camping. All beliefs are listed and founded in God's Word, the Bible.
Preamble
TM Camping, in accordance with the historic Baptist tradition, hold to Believers Baptism by Immersion, Liberty of Conscience, the Separation of Church and state, and the Priesthood of the Believer. We also affirm the following distinctive which need emphasis at the present time:
I. THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE
The Bible is the inspired, authoritative and infallible Word of God and is our sole rule of faith and practice. It is the standard by which all human conduct and creeds should be tried.
II. THE TRINITY
There is only one true and living God who is manifested in three eternal and coequal person; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God possesses holiness, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, love, mercy, and all other perfections. All humankind owed to Him supreme faith and obedience.
III. HUMANKIND
Humankind has been created in the image of God but through Adam's fall is now sinful, lost and condemned. By deliberate choice all participate in sin which is open rebellion to God's law. Notwithstanding the fall, all human life through creation has value and dignity.
IV. JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH
Human beings can be forgiven of sin and justified solely through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ who died for sinners and rose again from the dead. Only by repentance from sin and faith in Jesus Christ the Lord can acceptance with God be attained.
V. REGENERATION
Regeneration is the work of the Holy Spirit by which the believer receives a new nature from God. Christian growth or sanctification is the continuation of the new life principle which begins in the new birth.
VI. THE CHURCH
The church in its widest sense includes all believers of all ages. The church is manifested visibly in the local body of baptized believers who covenant together to worship, observe the ordinances, and evangelize.
VII. HUMAN DESTINY
Jesus Christ will eventually return visibly at which time He will raise the dead and judge all people. Believers will enjoy an eternal state of blessedness in heaven while unbelievers will experience eternal separation from God in hell.
VIII. EVANGELISM AND SOCIAL CONCERN
The church has been called to preach the gospel so that individual people can receive salvation. Also the church is to become involved in the improvement of society by advocating biblical principles which militate against poverty, racism, violence, and all forms of injustice against humankind.
IX. HUMAN SEXUALITY
God's design is that man and woman either be joined together in a perpetual monogamous relationship or live in a single state. Extra-marital sex, adultery and homosexuality are inconsistent with biblical teaching.
Faith History
At TM Camping we desire to have a distinctly Christian atmosphere and influence. Though campers and attendees come from many Christian and non-Christian backgrounds, all are included in chapel services, prayer, devotions, etc. Ministry team members participate in leading campers, attendees and other staff in these and other Christian activities. In addition, no matter where one works, all staff are expected to live exemplary Christian lives before campers and staff alike.

1. Perform safety checks on buses; identify defects and document on appropriate form.
2. Drive SchoolBuses to designate route according to established time schedules; transport students on field trips as assigned.
