JOB SUMMARY:
Bus Operators transport passengers by operating any type of passenger bus on regularly scheduled links (fixed routes), observing all state and municipal traffic laws, observing all safety rules strictly adhering to time schedules, and providing exceptional customer service.
SAFETY SENSITIVE:
This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including but not limited to pre-employment testing, post-accident testing and random testing, under Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol regulations, and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, 49 CFR Part 40 and Part 655.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operates passenger buses.
Performs DOT pre-trip inspections.
Answers passenger questions courteously.

SUMMARY:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
Inspect company vehicles for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Complete the vehicle “Log” after each trip or at the end of the scheduled outing.

Assist residents on and off the vehicles and during scheduled outings.
Safely operate company vehicle and follow traffic laws/regulations/local ordinances/FDOT regulations when operating the company vehicle.
Assist with the preventive maintenance of the company vehicles.

Responsibilities
+ Safely operate a semi-trailer/tractor unit with gross vehicle of 100,000 lbs in the timely pick-up and delivery of bulk water from spring sites to company bottlings plants
+ Load and unload tanker truck safely
+ Act as a team player by supporting the team with decisions and helping others when needed
+ Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
+ Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
+ Communicate effectively with dispatchers and plant personnel
+ Complete all DOT required documents and reports following required laws and standards
+ Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and company operating requirements
+ Follow company water quality testing procedures
+ Maintain a clean and safe vehicle
+ Maintain accurate driving logs, inventory, and records
+ Operate forklift safely to unload and reload trailer with company products.
+ Be courteous, outgoing, and always maintain a professional image
+ Protect company assets by securing product loads before and during transport
+ Understand and maintain load and freight weight requirements.

Qualifications
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
+ Must be 21 years of age or older (DOT requirement)
+ Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
+ Tanker endorsement required at the time of hire
+ 1 -2 years commercial tanker driving experience, minimum 100,000 pound GVW preferred
+ Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR): Only one license held, no DUI/DWI, refusal to test, leaving the scene of an accident, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accidents, driving-related suspensions, revocations, or cancellations; disqualifying offenses; or reckless driving incidents
+ Ability to read and interpret information such driving routes, safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
+ Ability to sit, stand, push, pull, climb ladders, walk all day, and move/lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
+ Ability to work independently, efficiently, and in several types of weather
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently
+ Experience operating a sit-down forklift and/or pallet jack preferred

DESCRIPTION:
The Villages Charter School is accepting applications for a School Traffic Attendant for our Buffalo Ridge Campus. This is a part-time position, assisting with directing school traffic at various positions & intersections located on the Buffalo Ridge Campus. The Traffic Attendant will be responsible for the smooth, transitional, and safe movement of traffic on our campus during carline which occurs at the beginning and end of our school day.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To contribute to the safety of the students by directing traffic at designated intersections to assure the safe flow of motor vehicle travel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The expectations include the following and other duties as assigned:
Supervise the safe movement of motor vehicle traffic on select roadways and/or intersections at assigned posts before and after school hours.
Assist motor vehicles in entering and leaving school property or crossing other intersections by safely directing the flow of traffic. Allow school motor vehicle traffic to navigate through our school zone safely while dropping off and picking up students in carline.
Report to supervisor safety violations at assigned intersections.
Attend preliminary and refresher training sessions on traffic control hand signals and proper methods for interrupting traffic flow, as assigned by The Villages Charter School safety specialist.
Perform any additional related duties required by the charter school or through necessity of situations.
Perform other duties that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Possess normal visual perception in both eyes.
Possess normal hearing range.
Be free of infirmities that would prevent standing or walking at least two hours per day.
Demonstrate freedom of motion of upper extremities to execute arm and hand traffic signals.
Will be required to attend and successfully complete a Florida School Crossing guard certification course as soon as possible after assignment and maintain certification.
Additional or alternate qualifications to the above as the Board may find as appropriate and acceptable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
