Satisfactory completion of annual school bus driver physical examination Verification of the employee's driving record through the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division semi-annually (January & August) The School Bus Driver will be responsible for cleaning and inspecting the inside of their school bus. The School Bus Driver is responsible for reporting maintenance issues on their bus to the School Bus Coordinator or his designee. Within 30 days of a conviction for any traffic violation, except parking, a driver must notify his/her employer, regardless of the nature of the violation or the type of vehicle that was driven at the time. Repetitive Motions: Assisting students with seat belts, and with getting in and out of the bus. Sitting: While in the vehicle, attending meetings. Talking: talking with passengers, talking on the radio. Seeing: keeping aware of general traffic conditions, monitoring passengers. Hearing: Listening to traffic sounds, for emergency vehicles, passenger inquiries, monitor the radio, detect mechanical problems. Standing: Operating lift controls. Stooping/Stretching: Picking up and securing young or challenged passengers, securing wheelchairs. Lifting: Handling challenged passengers into their seats, wheel chairs, tire chains and securing devices. Conditions include operating in inclement weather, heat and cold (buses are not air-conditioned), and exposure to possible injury due to traffic accidents. On occasion psychological factors may include dealing with mentally challenged children and adults, dealing with life-threatening emergencies as well as coping with screaming children. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 operation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements. Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience with a safe driving record. Strong knowledge of hazardous materials handling, DOT regulations, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR). Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to sit for extended periods, bend, lift, carry, connect/disconnect heavy hoses, and climb on/off equipment safely. Must pass required physicals, drug screenings, and maintain all driving qualifications. Authorization to load/unload products at partner facilities (training provided). Clear and timely communication skills with dispatch and customers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive daily delivery schedules from dispatch and plan routes efficiently. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tank truck and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT safety requirements and verifying all equipment is in proper working condition. Safely operate a tank truck and trailer to deliver fuel to customer sites. Connect hoses, open/close valves, monitor gauges, and accurately measure and record product quantities delivered. Provide delivery receipts and maintain accurate regulatory and company documentation. Communicate with dispatch after each delivery and notify customers prior to arrival to confirm readiness to receive product. Address customer inquiries professionally, escalating to appropriate company contacts when necessary. Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness, performing housekeeping duties as required. Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, facility rules, and company safety procedures at all times. Attend required safety meetings and ongoing training sessions.
