Provides timely notice when unable to perform duties as scheduled. Discharges students only at authorized stops. Exercises responsible leadership on all school trips. Transports authorized students only. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority; enforces all bus rules. Acts responsibly when given an assignment as a leader on out of town convoy trips and/or when given as assignment as a team leader of a summer work crew. Maintain current license and certification as specified by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Maintain passing an annual physical exam required by Brownsville ISD. Ensures proper condition of bus by performing pre and post trip inspections. Ensures that improper conditions are reported to the Transportation Department by completing a repair order request. Ensures proper and quick evacuation in case of an emergency. Maintains knowledge of schoolbus rules, regulations, and procedures by attending inservices and training as specified by the BusDriver Trainer. Strives continually to promote the safety, health and comfort of students and employees in the performance of duties. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Performs any other duties as assigned.
