While riding the bus, all of the aide's attention should be directed towards keeping students in their seats and when required buckled using the provided safety harnesses/belts. Is aware of the requirements of transporting wheelchair-bound students if necessary. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Keeps assigned bus clean. Discharges students only at authorized stops and transports only authorized students. Assists the bus driver when needed. Back up Special Needs van driver if needed. EXPERIENCE: Prior aide experiences a plus Ability to speak and communicate with bus driver and students List Specific Skills And/Or Abilities Required: Requires a valid State Driver's license. Working knowledge: Sufficient familiarity with the subject to know basic principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.
