Hours worked vary depending upon the assigned route and routes are subject to change three times each year. Requirements / Qualifications Requires current licensing as a school bus driver. Candidates must attach the required documents to their employment application. Prior to being eligible for employment, applicants must register with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. As of January 6, 2020, this clearinghouse will be used to obtain drug and alcohol program violations for commercial driver's license holders prior to employment. Required Documents (must be valid, not expired): 1) California Commercial Driver License, Class A or B, with P and S endorsements, with Restriction 29, and without Restriction 48. 2) California Special Driver Certificate, valid for school bus operation, and must not have Restrictions 2, 3, 4, and 5.
