JOB DESCRIPTION: The school bus driver will operate school buses under all types of weather conditions including but not limited to fog, rain, hail, sleet, snow and ice; transport students and other authorized persons over regular routes to and from school, and on field, extracurricular and special or extra activity trips as authorized by the school district officials.

JOB RELATED TASKS: The bus driver will:
Operate and service all school bus equipment and accessories including but not limited to fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, snow chains, sanders, first aid kits, etc.

Clean and service the school bus to include interior/exterior sweeping and washing, maintaining appropriate of fuel, oil and coolant, tire inflation levels, etc.

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to join our team! As the School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the school bus while adhering to a strict schedule and ensuring your passengers well-being. The ideal candidate has a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and previous experience as a bus driver or has completed bus driver training. If you have an impeccable driving record, high safety standards, and enjoy being around children, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Pick up and drop off students at designated bus stops
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations
Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections and report any maintenance or repair issues promptly
Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus in a safe manner
Engage with students in a friendly and courteous manner

Bus Driver major responsibilities:
+ Drive one of several different transit buses or vehicles in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area within a daily assigned time schedule
+ Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required
+ Stop at designated points to load and unload passengers
+ Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs and scooters
+ Notify dispatch of deviations, overload, accidents, passenger incidents, medical/behavioral problems, or bus mechanical/electrical trouble
+ Assure that fares are deposited into the fare box and dispense information
+ Advise passengers of rules and regulations when necessary
+ Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents
+ Operate on-board computer fare boxes and destination signs.
Bus Driver requirements:
+ Must be at least 21 years of age
+ Possess a valid driver's license
+ Possess a Commercial Learners Permit (at minimum), valid CDL with passenger and air break endorsement preferred
+ Have at least 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
+ No more than two moving violations in the past 3 years on driving record
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Able to work shift hours and days assigned
