Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A valid driver's license for the type of vehicle driven with at least one year of driving experience A driving record approved by the Encompass' insurance company
Must pass Encompass' driving test
Work history demonstrating reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently
Must be at least 21 years of age.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Safely drive a 15 passenger school bus
Maneuver throughout the inside and outside of the bus in order to check safety and alarm features and ensure children are safely secured
Remain focused and not distracted from driving responsibilities
Follow established pick-up and delivery schedule
Relate and communicate effectively with children and adults
Monitor attendance of children; report children's unexpected absences and/or incidents involving children to Center Director immediately

- bus is used for Encompass business only; personal errands during work time do not occur

- suggestions and feedback are offered to the supervisor regarding set up or alterations to the route
Ensure children's safety in the bus, in parking lots, on sidewalks, and while boarding or exiting the bus
This duty has been performed well when:
- attendance sheets are maintained, children are accounted for at the beginning and end of each transport
- children are not left unattended at any time
- established procedures are followed regarding variations in children's transportation schedules (no-shows, etc.)
- children are secured in appropriate safety seats or restraints at all times
- doors are locked at all times
- assistance is provided when children enter and exit the bus
- keys are removed from the ignition whenever the driver's seat is left unattended
- in the event of an injury, child's teacher and/or Center Director is notified and assistance is provided with completing the appropriate accident/injury report
Maintain clean and safe conditions in the bus
This duty has been performed well when:
- safety and alarm checks are done routinely in compliance with state licensing and Encompass' policies
- annual bus evacuation drill is conducted upon direction of Center Director
- bus floor is swept at least weekly; dirt, paper, extra clothing, etc. is removed on an ongoing basis
- gasoline tank is filled as needed, using center credit card for gas purchases only
- Center Director or Facilities Manager is notified promptly of any malfunction or concerns with the bus
Complete accurately and on time all required reports and/or necessary office record keeping
This duty has been performed well when:
- Responsibility for recording time worked via time clock is performed consistently
- Absence from Site forms are turned into your supervisor per center policy
- receipts are turned in immediately after making a purchase

Our popular after school program provides a safe, fun, school-age friendly environment for children in the Madison area during non-school hours. This safe and fun environment extends to our bus drivers, who are vital to our after school program!
About the role: We're looking for dedicated bus drivers to ensure safe transportation from various schools in the Madison area to our center. Actual assigned routes can vary, and include both public and private schools. We only transport enrolled children to our center-

ROW seeks to hire experienced drivers to provide safe, reliable transportation to ROW guests and employees. ROW drivers primarily operate full size school\-style busses filled with guests and may include hauling a trailer stacked with rafts. Drivers at certain operations also drive heavy duty crew cab truck and trailer loaded with trip equipment. Drivers provide a quality first and last experience for ROW guests as they begin and end their trips. Drivers are responsible for daily inspection of vehicle and to maintain a safe and clean vehicle. Additional duties may include assisting guides with put\-in and take\-out of equipment. Drivers must have a CDL, a passenger endorsement and no airbrake restriction.

Job Duties (not listed in order of importance):
Responsible for the safe conveyance of all passenger and load between origination and destination.
Check that load is safely secured and road\-worthy before any departures and after all stops.
Greet guests warmly as they load and unload from vehicle.
Drive guides and guests to\/from various river put\-in (launch) and take\-out points. May occasionally drive to regional airports for guest pick ups or drop offs directly related to their river trip with ROW.
Clean interior and exterior of vehicle on a daily basis, paying particular attention to keeping windows clean at all times. Will assist guides in washing the bus at least once a week.
Ensure vehicle has been fueled, oiled and inspected before departure time.
Visually inspect vehicle prior to each trip for any needed repairs or maintenance and, as able, make small repairs. Record all inspections and repairs in vehicle log book.
Responsible for regular, basic maintenance, upkeep and cleanliness of vehicles and trailers. Coordinate larger maintenance needs, as approved or directed by supervisor, with local suppliers.
Assist with take\-out process. May include directing guests, laying out tarps for rafts, preparing straps on the roof or trailer, and other duties necessary to expedite the take\-out.
Communicate with the area manager about any problems that may arise including any cooperation issues with other guides, problems that may be the result of guides not fulfilling their duties as these relate or interfere with safe or efficient fulfillment of bus driver duties.
Assist with other aspects of trip operation as\-needed and directed by supervisor.
Responsible for providing superlative guest service with a âcan doâ attitude, for interacting with and responding to ROW employees and guests in a professional, helpful manner.

Participate in family staffing when applicable.
Must support center during major transitions to ensure child safety and supervision.
Must follow break schedule created by a supervisor.
Serve as a liaison between ICAA Head Start and Head Start families.
Participate in general cleaning of the center.
Attend staff meetings and training.
Responsible for supporting the program in collecting in-kind to meet federal requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUS DRIVER: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, be self-initiated, operate with minimal supervision, and have organizational skills. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE OF THE BUS DRIVER: CDL certification and good driving record. Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children. Ability to handle emergencies. Able to maintain and perform minor automotive repairs, such as replacing wiper blades, keeping tires at appropriate pressure, and refilling wiper fluid. Ability to work flexible hours. Understanding of child behavior and appropriate guidance. Knowledge of traffic and safety laws. Skill in the operation of a motor vehicle
under all types of weather conditions.

REASONING ABILITY OF THE BUS DRIVER: Demonstrates effective leadership, teaming, and conflict resolution skills and demonstrates knowledge of appropriate child management strategies. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF THE BUS DRIVER: Ability to serve as a productive team member on an interdisciplinary team of professionals, respect and respond competently to the culture, traditions, lifestyle, language, and values of each family and community, and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OF THE BUS DRIVER: Maintain a valid Wisconsin Drivers License and CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements

QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED
Age: Minimum 18 years old
Education: High school diploma or GED
Licensing Requirements:
Valid Wisconsin driver's license
Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Driving Record: Excellent 5-year driving history with less than 7 points on driving abstract
Safety Requirements:

Would you like to help individuals with special needs, developmental disabilities? That's our goal at Carepool.
Healthcare Drivers work with consistent customers and build relationships. Use your own car on a project basis or drive a partners vehicle, to make money while helping others! We have created a transportation platform for people with disabilities to get to work and integrate into their communities.
We are seeking drivers who want to take consistent rides and build trusting relationships. Make a difference!
Using your vehicle works in a similar fashion to driving Uber, but some riders are scheduled as the same on a daily or weekly basis. Partner with other drivers to cover rides as we build the first rideshare network across the city.
Requirements: Excellent personality with the ability to read people and solve problems. 100% clean driving record (minus a minor ticket or two) is required. Safe and Secure transport is our middle name, so you need to be able to make it yours!
Must be at least 21 yrs old and have over 5 years of driving experience. Experience helping others and/or any healthcare specific experience is preferred. 1-year Professional Driving is preferred.
