TRANSPORTATION/SCHOOL BUS MONITOR
The Bus Monitor provides assistance to students while loading and unloading; monitors the students' behavior while on the bus; provides special assistance to students in wheelchairs and other adaptive devices; provides first aid attention to injured or ill students.
Essential Dutieas:
Monitors students while on bus; maintains safety and order on the bus, ensures students wear seatbelts; provides first aid to ill or injured students.
Assists students load and unload the bus; provides special assistance to students in wheelchairs, including operating the lift and strapping and securing wheelchairs on vehicle.
Assists bus driver with routes and directions; assists bus driver while backing the vehicle.
Provides assistance during emergencies, evacuation planning and drills; provides knowledge and operates emergency window exits.
Maintains cleanliness of bus; sweeps bus interior; removes all trash items.
Maintains confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Transportation of students. Transporting of students with disabilities and use of necessary and/or required equipment. Safely operate a wheelchair hydraulic lift. Ability to assist students with patience and understanding . Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, parents, associates and students. Ability to care for students with special needs and assist them while on the bus. Ability to stay calm and in control during emergency situations.

• Comply with the Safety Team Roles and Responsibilities
• Perform medical review and interpretation of adverse events and device deficiencies reported by clinical trial investigators
• Ensure timely and accurate assessment of safety data in compliance with regulatory requirements, study protocols, and internal SOPs.

Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Member of the care delivery team will function under the direction of and be assistive to the bedside nursing team to provide delegated direct patient care intervention. This person will work a minimum 6 hours per day and will be paid as per salary schedule. Persons applying for this position must have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement along with a high school diploma or GED.
If you do not have a CDL Class B License with School Bus endorsement, we offer free training with a certified on board instructor. Training will provide the skills to obtain Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement. The instructor will work around the trainee's schedule to accommodate training, including nights and weekends. The trainee will initially pay for the temporary permit, CDL testing, and CDL license. The initial cost is approximately $125.00. Upon successful completion of testing and is officially hired, those costs are reimbursed to the trainee. The only non-reimbursed cost to the trainee is the cost of the fingerprinting. The trainee has the potential to work as a substitute bus aide while being trained.

Completes a report on misconduct of bus students on the computer when necessary.
Completes reports, as required, on the number and names of bus students, number of bus stops, trip mileage, time, etc.
Checks all tires and wheels, lights, emergency equipment, etc. daily prior to bus runs as per rules and regulations.
Reports immediately all mechanical deficiencies and failures to the Transportation Mechanic.
Cleans the inside of the bus daily and outside of bus when needed.
Reports all accidents to the appropriate law enforcement agency and the Transportation Supervisor of the school system.
Keeps fuel in the bus and sees that the oil and water are checked regularly.
Attends safety meetings as directed.
Administers necessary first aid in case of accident.
Does evacuation and safety drills on their bus routes.
Performs such other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor/designee.

Drivers must have a clean driving record. They are responsible to safely transport children to/from school daily following all road, traffic, and JFS safety regulations as well as supervision, maintain ratios and follow all center rules. They must maintain safety of the bus and relationships with the schools with which we transport. Durning summers if available, drivers may be asked to drive & supervise field trips to locations off site where they would be the teacher of record. Drivers when not doing driving related duties would be assigned as floaters.
Floaters may be assigned to a starting classroom each day and move to different classrooms based on needs. Floaters carry out lesson plans created by other teachers but may need to improvise depending on the day or needs of the children. Floaters are usually scheduled regular times daily and cover a variety of areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
