Learning model:
Interns will co-lead group therapy sessions with a licensed social worker or professional counselor as well as provide individual counseling to an assigned caseload. Interns will also have the opportunity to provide support and practice de-escalation skills "in the moment" when students are in need of support. Weekly clinical supervision is provided by on-site LCSW-C.
Student expectations:
Student expectations include motivation to engage and learn in a fast-paced environment, ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting and use supervision effectively and seek out feedback to strengthen professional development. Patience, compassion, flexibility and adaptability are critical in working within this school environment.
