School District of New Berlin history
School District of New Berlin company history timeline
Originally named New Berlin High School, the school opened on September 5th, 1961.
In true Wisconsin fashion, New Berlin High School held its first dance in October of 1961.
After almost two years of construction, the school opened in September of 1969.
In 1969 New Berlin Eisenhower became the only other high school in the New Berlin School District.
In the fall of 1970, another school year began welcoming the 11th and 12th graders from NBW that fed into Eisenhower.
By 1971 DECA, VICA, FBLA and Ecology Clubs were formed. (See the yearbook for more information and pictures of the clubs)
In the fall of 1971, the 8th graders from Glen Park who would attend NBW, went to West, the 7th graders from Glen Park then fed into Eisenhower.
The friendly rivalry between the two schools emerged almost immediately after Eisenhower opened. It wasn’t until 1986, however, that New Berlin High school was renamed New Berlin West.
