SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST SUMMARY
School psychologists provide a full range of psychological services to support the academic and behavioral competence of students ages birth to 21 in one or more sites in the Minneapolis Public School District. Essential functions of these positions may include:
* Utilizing evidence-based best practice in all aspects of work, including pre-referral interventions, consultations, and evaluations.
* Participating in design, implementation, and evaluation of early intervention with children experiencing academic and behavioral difficulty.
* Providing individual and group intervention services for students, including social skills training and crisis intervention.
* Assisting in the development of crisis response teams and providing crisis response services.
* Assessing individual students through direct and indirect methods, including use of the Minneapolis Problem-Solving Model.
* Collaborating with peers to develop, plan, and implement best practices based on the needs/abilities of the students.
* Supporting development and implementation of data collection and analysis systems to support data-based decision-making.
* Adhering to due process requirements, state and federal laws regarding students with disabilities, and professional ethics and standards of school psychology.
* Supporting building staff in developing good practices related to due process requirements.
* Participating in revenue-generating activities required for special education personnel, including logging services for MA billing, using the web-based EasyIEP system, and participating in the 'random moment' study for administrative Medicaid-claiming and Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Time Studies, as scheduled.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE
* Ph.D. or Ed.S. Degree in school psychology or related field.
* Completion of graduate program in School Psychology that is (a) approved by NASP or consistent with NASP's Standards for Training and Field Placement Programs in School Psychology or was accredited, at the time of the applicant's graduation, by an agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
* Valid Minnesota License in School Psychology or eligible for license.
* Completion of supervised internship in school psychology.
* Demonstrated continued professional development though course work, research, peer collaboration and/or job-embedded staff development.

We are currently looking for a casual Psychometrist to join our Psychology and CAPS department. This casual role must be able to commit to 1 - 2 days per week for at least 5 - 6 hours during those days (would need to be available from either 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM OR 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM). Preferred candidates will be bilingual (Spanish).
Purpose of the position: Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty in administering, scoring and interpreting routine group and individual psychological tests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer batteries of interactive psychological tests, including individual intelligence tests, personality inventories, cognitive ability, verbal fluency, and other tests to patients, children, and other adults as directed by health care providers or researchers
Observe clients during testing process and make judgments about ability and/or level of function
Administer interactive tests to patients using their native language, with the aid of interpreters
Correct or score tests using judgment within the test manual guidelines
Complete a protocol form reflecting the client scores on the tests
Compile written reports of behavioral observations of clients made during the test administration
Stock adequate number of test forms, scoring sheets, etc. in test administration office and other appropriate locations in clinic
Complete prior authorization forms for testing and therapy
Other duties as assigned
Assist in maintaining standards for clinic/hospital accreditation by health management organizations, internship program accreditation by the American Psychological Association (APA), and state licensure
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in psychology or closely related field from an accredited institution
Completion of courses in psychological testing and six months of experience in administering, scoring and interpreting routine individual tests
OR
An approved equivalent combination of training and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a psychometrist
Previous experience in a hospital setting
Proven ability to build rapport with patients, families, etc
