Hours: M-F 7:00a-3:00p Salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 Key Responsibilities: Consultation and Intervention: Partners with school employees to develop and implement evidence based social, emotional, and behavioral programming. Delivers implementation of this programming at the systems, classroom, and individual levels. Communicates progress to parents and provides support as necessary. Psychological Assessment: Completes social/behavioral, academic, cognitive, adaptive, and transition assessments. Interprets findings and presents results to stakeholders (e.g., parents, district administrators, school employees) Relationships & Communication: Ensures a trauma aware environment for all students. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills. Cultivate a positive and productive workplace atmosphere to enhance team morale and productivity. Participate in and complete training sessions as delegated by management to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Conduct training as required and assigned. Must have satisfactory background checks Valid driver's license and safe driving record Working Conditions: As a School Psychologist dedicated to supporting children in the school setting, you'll find yourself immersed in a dynamic and impactful environment. Here's what you can expect regarding working conditions: Primary work is done within the classroom however it is expected that staff will monitor/work with students during indoor/outdoor physical activities (playground/gym); support students during academic, related service (Speech, OT, PT), and behavioral programming; and assist in toileting if applicable. This role may encounter challenging behaviors and situations, requiring patience, empathy, and effective behavior management strategies and the ability to perform Physical Management Techniques (PMT) as needed. Responsibilities include but not limited to the following: * Conduct screenings of students referred to Nassau BOCES by their home school district. * Conduct psychological re-evaluations for special education students. * Develop and monitor FBAs & BIPs. * Confer with teachers, students and parents and districts regarding behavioral data and adaptations to the classroom environment. * Support students emotional, behavioral, and management needs. * Deliver group and individual counseling as per student IEP mandates. * Knowledge of current trends in school psychology, research methods, testing and evaluation techniques, familiarity with commonly used diagnostic tests. * Maintain accurate records, counseling logs and Medicaid related documents. * Experience working with children & adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders highly desirable. REQUIREMENTS: * NYS Certification - School Psychologist. * NYS Psychologist License or License eligible highly preferred. * Strong behavioral training/experience or BCBA. * Expertise in providing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
