POSITION: SchoolPsychologist - District Wide
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in School Psychology or related field.
REQUIRED LICENSE: Must possess or be able to possess a Nevadaschoolpsychologist license issued by the Nevada Department of Education.
DEFINITION: The SchoolPsychologist will provide a full range of psychological services to children, including screening and assessment, designing remedial education programs, individual and group counseling with school staff, parents, and outside agencies as appropriate.
CURRENT SALARY: $57,561 minimum - $116,008 maximum depending on experience and education, scheduled 183 days per year. (*Additional pay: SB500 funds will be added for the 26-27 school year)

The schoolpsychologist will work at all of the school sites where services are provided to both general and special education students. Broad-based services include consultation, support for interventions, assessment and evaluation, professional development, and school improvement activities. The schoolpsychologist is expected to adhere to applicable federal and state laws and regulations (i.e., Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Individual with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA), Nevada Administrative Code (NAC), Section 504, as well as School District and Department policies and procedures. This person will report directly to a supervising Special Education Services Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Using consultation and collaborative problem solving with school personnel and parents to address student learning, behavior, mental health, and social issues.
2. Assisting parents with referring the student to appropriate community agencies when needed.

6. Using eligibility standards (IDEA, NAC; Section 504), Department procedures, and a variety of assessment techniques to assist the Student Success Team (SST) in determining student eligibility for special education services or student need for reasonable accommodations.
7. Writing comprehensive SST Evaluation Reports following Department standards.
8. Assisting the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team, as needed, in developing appropriate services for identified special education students.
9. Assisting the School Success Team, as needed, in developing reasonable accommodations for identified Section 504 students.
10. Promoting and advancing mental health issues relevant to students and families.

Support projects and initiatives in other divisions and departments throughout DPAC on an as-needed basis
Complete other treatment, evaluative, and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Special Service.

Limited term contracts are assignments for a limited duration. These positions are grant-funded and are contingent upon continued funding. The hiring administrator may retain incumbent for the duration of the grant without re-advertising. At the conclusion of this position, the incumbent will be eligible to participate in the exclusive transfer process and overage process in accordance with the Washoe Education Association negotiated agreement.
