Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students individually or in groups to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement interventions and support plans for students.
Participate in various district and school meetings (e.g., Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, MTSS meetings, manifestation determination meetings, etc.).
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed to students, families, and school staff.
Conduct research and program evaluation to inform evidence-based practices and interventions within the school setting.
Stay current with laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to school psychology practice.
Participate in professional development activities and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in school psychology.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position works in cooperation with and under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist in completing university program requirements including conduct cognitive, behavioral, and academic assessments for students, birth through 21 and assisting teachers and parents in understanding the educational needs of referred students. This position's responsibilities are coordinated to provide multiple learning experiences for school psychologist interns. Interns will practice in the role of a school psychologist through assessing and observing students. They will develop skills in teaming with an evaluation IEP team and will assist in report writing. They will have a full range of experiences from preschool through high school level.
QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
* Enrolled in an accredited Master's degree or higher school psychologist program.
* Enrolled in an internship class with a University Program Advisor.
* Demonstrated successful course completion in cognitive, behavioral, and academic testing and related skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Performs some or all of the following tasks. Other Duties may be assigned.
The duties listed below are not inclusive, but characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position.
Under direct supervision of a licensed School Psychologist and depending upon the individual assignment, the School Psychologist Intern may perform all or a combination of the following:
* Conduct individual evaluations in cognitive, behavioral, and academic areas as well as other areas that may be assigned.
* Work collaboratively with the assigned intern supervisor to provide comprehensive written reports of observations, assessment results, and recommendations within the standards established by the Special Student Services Department in collaboration with the intern's university program.
* Provides a variety of consultation and advice on issues such as behavior management, social skills and a wide variety of other matters to assist students in improving behavior to benefit the child's education.
* Assists with/coordinates efforts for consistent behavior and environment for the child.
* Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings and following schedules.
* Maintains a variety of program records, files and documents according to program standards and established guidelines.
