Interviews patients and studies medical and social case histories.
Observes patients and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment.
Write a psychological testing report to be included as part of the patient's plan of service.
Documents progress/data in medical records using objective, measurable methods.
Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments.
Selects the approach to use in individual therapy, such as directive, nondirective, and supportive treatment, and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
Collaborates with psychiatrists and other specialists in developing treatment programs for patients.
Instructs and directs students serving psychological internships in hospitals and clinics.
Adheres to health center productivity standards as defined by the medical director and senior management.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Adheres to quality assurance guidelines and aids the health center in reaching its clinical quality goals. Adheres to nationally recognized health care standards.

**A Brief Overview**
Under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist or Psychologist, the Psychometrist performs a variety of duties involved in administering and scoring a battery of psychological and/or neuropsychological tests in accordance with clearly defined procedures, at the request of, and under the clinical direction of, a licensed Psychologist or Neuropsychologist.

**What you will do**
+ Communicates with Psychologists, Neuropsychologists and related hospital personnel
+ Ensures confidentiality of test results and recommendations; maintains security of testing materials.
+ Explains testing procedures and objectives to patients, and works with patients to facilitate compliance with protocol and procedures to ensure appropriate test completion.
+ For study participants, maintains study lists documenting procedures completed by each participant as well as other pertinent information as determined by the Neuropsychologist.
+ Observes patients carefully before, during and after testing; records behavioral observations and reports to Psychologist or Neuropsychologist any information that may affect the validity and significance of test results.
+ Organizes testing materials to optimize timeliness and clarity of the evaluation.
+ Administers selected neuropsychological tests and test batteries to patients to measure clinical factors such as intellectual functioning, presence and extent of organic involvement, personality characteristics, and psychopathology. Administers and score tests using a standardized format, Uses a normative database when converting scores. Assists in administering and completing behavior designated rating scales.
**Education Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, Counseling Psychology or School Psychology
**Experience Qualifications**
+ Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Ability to administer a wide range of standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests
+ Knowledge of psychological, neuropsychological and behavioral test scoring protocol, procedures, and standards
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ Psychometrist certification preferred .

Interviews patients and studies medical and social case histories.
Observes patients and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, achievement, interest, personality, and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment.
Write a psychological testing report to be included as part of the patient's plan of service.
Documents progress/data in medical records using objective, measurable methods.
Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments.
Selects the approach to use in individual therapy, such as directive, nondirective, and supportive treatment, and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
Collaborates with psychiatrists and other specialists in developing treatment programs for patients.
Instructs and directs students serving psychological internships in hospitals and clinics.
Adheres to health center productivity standards as defined by the medical director and senior management.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Adheres to quality assurance guidelines and aids the health center in reaching its clinical quality goals. Adheres to nationally recognized health care standards.
Knows and follows clinic policies and procedures.
