Job Duties and Responsibilities

Training include in-house presentations on intervention strategies, best practices, and more. Outside presentations include training from local law enforcement, attorneys, and community partners.
Mental Health Community Clinic- Casa Counseling/Consejeria, a division of Casa de la Familia, has a low-cost therapy program that gives many the opportunity to receive counseling services according to their family income. Students provide individual, family, and group therapy while coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient care. Practicum students will also learn to assess clinical crises and apply risk management techniques as needed.

These include depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, suicidality and self-harm, and emotional dysregulation, as well as comorbid problems such as anxiety, substance use, exposure to trauma, and executive functioning deficits. You Will:

Position Summary
The High School Ministry Associate will work closely with the HSM Director to support and strengthen our ministry to high school students. This position provides leadership, relational care, and administrative support to help create Christ-centered environments where students feel known, valued, and challenged to grow in their faith. The Associate will help recruit, equip, and shepherd volunteers, assist with weekly programming, and help plan and execute events, camps, and trips.

What You'll Do
MINISTRY LEADERSHIP
Partner with the HSM Director to implement the vision, goals, and values of Friends Church within High School Ministry.
Assist in planning and leading weekly HSM services, including worship, teaching,games, and small group connection.
Occasionally teach in large group and lead elements of programming as requested.
Help create and implement a pathway of connection and discipleship for students,moving them from first-time guests to fully engaged participants in the HSM community.
VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT
Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd volunteer leaders (Life Group Leaders and Change Makers).
Provide ongoing encouragement, coaching, and accountability for volunteers.
Partner in organizing and leading regular volunteer training and leadership development opportunities.
STUDENT & FAMILY CARE
Build relationships with students inside and outside of programming through presence,encouragement, and discipleship.
Provide pastoral support to students and families as needed, especially in times of crisis,referring to professional counselors when appropriate.
Partner with parents to encourage family discipleship and support.
EVENTS & CAMPS
Assist in planning, promoting, and executing HSM events, camps, retreats, service projects, and outreach opportunities.
Actively participate in all HSM activities and church-wide initiatives.
ADMINISTRATION & COMMUNICATION
Provide administrative support for communication (emails, texts, social media,registrations, and attendance tracking).
Help maintain safety standards, child-protection policies, and compliance with church guidelines.
Support logistics for weekly programming, events, and camps.
