We are looking for Machine Operators to join our team! At West Bend, we specialize in cream cheese - that meet our customers' needs and appeal to consumer tastes worldwide. Responsibilities will be utilization of packaging machines in accordance with Food Safety guidelines. Cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining equipment to company standards, forming boxes and packaging final product, operate pallet jacks and other general labor duties as assigned.
Rate of Pay:
Up to $26.79 per hour ($25.29 plus $1.50 per hour certification pay) based on experience. Earning potential exceeds $85,000 annually.
Shift premium of $0.50 per hour for working on second shift and $1.00 per hour for third shift.
$2,000 sign on bonus, paid in the first year, based on good employment standing for 3rd shift full time positions.
Shift/Schedule:
1st Shift (6:00 am to 2:00 pm)
2nd Shift (2:00 pm to 10:00 pm)
3rd Shift (10:00 pm to 6:00 am)
Work week offers a guaranteed 40 hours.
Mandatory overtime is expected and weekend work is likely. Overtime is paid on 8+ hours in a day, time and half paid on Saturday and double time paid on Sundays.

Job Duties:
Machine set up and operate cream cheese packaging machines and various code dating equipment
Review and follow posted production schedule and monitor for possible changes
Provide a detailed pass down to oncoming relief
Operate machines to meet production standards
Know and demonstrate all Safe Work SOP's related to position
Monitor product and packaging for quality requirements by visual examination, weight checks, and examination of packaging components.
Complete all paperwork associated with production rates, weight checks and downtime. This requires a knowledge of basic math including % and decimal placement
Disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble packaging equipment, and documentation as required
Must be able to work safely and in a team environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
Perform other general labor tasks as assigned by leader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor production filler equipment to ensure food safety, product quality and conformity to customer standards and specifications.
Safely and efficiently set up, operate and clean filler machines/equipment as assigned.
Be proficient in Sterilize-in-Place (SIP), operation and/or Clean-in-Place (CIP) of assigned filler machine.
Perform basic clean, inspect and lube functions including basic Preventative Maintenance (PMs).
Actively participate in startup, troubleshooting/adjustment, stop/reset and shutdown of line equipment; clearing jams and reporting malfunctions to Supervisor as needed.
Perform changeovers and line clears; accurately setting up next item's packaging and coding.
Report out-of-standard/specification results to the Quality Department and Supervisor in a timely manner.
Complete handwritten instructions and on-line documentation including Quality and Critical Control Point (CCP) checks accurately and at the required frequencies.
Maintain accurate and detailed work logs and inventory records.
Monitor and review inventory and production levels to achieve the most efficient operating conditions.
Maintain assigned work area and production environment in a clean orderly condition; completing environmental cleaning requirements as needed.
Actively participate in shift exchanges and work team meetings.
Consistently meet production needs and goals while making efforts to minimize product shrink and downtime.
Report unsafe conditions or other compliance issues to the Supervisor in a timely manner.

Your Responsibilities
Operate multiple stations across Assembly Lines 1-4 and in the three bakeries.
Monitor, inspect, and weigh ingredients and products to meet quality specifications.
Maintain production pace and perform line duties efficiently to prevent downtime.
Identify quality versus inferior products according to standards.
Perform backup duties as trained and assigned.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Skills: Ability to work independently or as part of a team with strong communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly; basic math and reading skills.
Environment: Comfortable working in areas with minimal temperature control, exposed to wet and dry conditions.
Experience: Prior manufacturing experience preferred, ideally in food or beverage industry; knowledge of GMPs is a plus.

About the Role:
The Operator II role at the Manawa location provides support to the Production team, driving and supporting key initiatives to improve performance throughout the plant. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:
Inspect material, products, and containers at each step of packaging process
Load raw materials and packaging into machines
Record production data, review records and specifications, complete all necessary paperwork
Set up machines for production runs and make adjustments
Perform deep cleans and changeovers
Complete quality checks
This full-time role pays $26.03 per hour on 3rd Shift. Hours are 9:45pm-6:00am.
About You:

This position will set up, tear down, and operate the stuffing equipment, Frank-o-Matic's, and any other equipment used in the area. The position is responsible for assisting with various tasks related to hanging and weighing to keep production lines running at maximum efficiency.

Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to do the following: lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for sustained periods; climb stairs and ladders; bend; reach; push; pull, enter tanks, and wear harness
Able to work in cold and hot environments for extended periods of time.
Able to work 12 hour shifts as appropriate.

Ability to safely drive a forklift and other equipment.
Position type and expected hours of work: Full time position, be willing to work any day of the week, an off shift and/or rotating shifts as applicable or assigned. Overtime may be required12 hour shifts 7 days on 7 days off schedule.
Required education and experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Must be able to complete pre-employment assessments as required
Must be able to pass a background check for education, work history, and criminal record
Must be able to successfully pass a physical and drug screen as applicable by local government

Read, write, and speak English
Able to safely perform duties of the job as required
Work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to share information, data, and ideas with peers and leaders
Demonstrate good decision-making ability and communication skills
Computer literate and SAP experience a plus
Able to develop and apply mechanical/problem solving skills, preferred
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and Food Safety, a plus
Forklift experience, a plus or ability to get forklift certification, required
