Schreiner’s first students arrived in 1923 from remote ranching communities.

“The Order” was originally established in 1926 and currently serves as Schreiner’s traditions council.
Schreiner Institute began publishing Recall, the school’s yearbook, in 1926.
In 1973, it began focusing on a college curriculum and changed its name to Schreiner College.
In 1981, the college became a four-year institution, graduating its first baccalaureate class three years later.
The school maintained the tradition until 1981, even after it changed its name to Schreiner College.
The college became Schreiner University in 2001 and began offering master's degrees.

As part of the Library’s mission to provide innovative information resources, Logan Library began digitizing special collections and archival items in 2006.
Since 2012, the institution has received $52.4 million from approximately 3,600 donors.
In 2017, Schreiner surpassed its five-year capital campaign fundraising goal of $50 million.
