Use common industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, IEC61850, and DNP 3.0.
Develop PLC based electrical system monitoring and controls solutions.
Participate in and develop documentation for factory and on-site acceptance testing (FAT and SAT respectively), as well as perform start-up and commissioning activities as required
Ensure that the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered to all aspects of Site Services.
Provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including after sales support.

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for an Application Engineer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role acts as the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. You will provide technical & modification parts support to sales, PPC, shop, and NP teams to support order management and completion to achieve department goals. As well as performs research projects to support manager in growing department efficiencies and capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews requests from sales to provide quick information for processing of motor mod quotes/orders. (emails, phone calls, etc.)
Develop and improve shop procedures to document current practices and methods and allow for continuous improvement and uniform implementation. This will include time studies to ensure operation routings are accurate for capacity calculations.
Assist PPC, shop, and NP team technically as needed
Consistently mentors and trains sales on technical information for motor modifications.
Work with product engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues
Become proficient with maintaining and updating all motor modification technical tools in order to ensure they are as accurate and reliable for those using those tools.
Conduct training sessions for sales group and field sales teams on motor modification processes and procedures.
Supporting stock inventory conversions via modifications process.
Sourcing and developing new parts for addition to inventory or special projects.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent from a four-year college or university is preferred.
Knowledge / training:
Understands electric motor mechanical assembly to the component level.
Understands basic to medium complex level specifications.
Understands basic industry standards such as NEMA, IEC, IEEE, UL. etc.
Technical writing skills.
Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and nomenclature as required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, as well as Outlook.
Experience:

Key Responsibilities
Prepare firm or budgetary equipment quotations in a timely manner to meet Customer specified timelines.
Select aerodynamic performance for a given application based on site requirements, customer specifications and FSE capabilities.
Research existing product specifications to assist Customer Service for aftermarket product support.
Select and configure options from price books to develop product proposals.
Estimate non-price book items based on the overall requirements and research into the price of materials and estimates of other costs.
Interface with internal groups to understand factory capabilities and costs.
Prepare RFQ's for supplier components and condition vendor quotes with assistance from the Purchasing group
Provide input to Product Management on product features, sales tools and processes to optimize efficiency.
Coordinate custom generation of Unit Outlines, P&IDs, ITPs and Documentation Submittals for engineered unit quotation.
Attends Customer bid clarification and kick off meetings when required.
Provides all necessary technical clarifications as well as support commercial clarifications during the bid clarification phase.
Consults the sales lead regarding the specifications and features of an application or a set of integrated applications. Alternately, these training sessions can be conducted directly for the end users to explain the features and advantages of an application.
