The Training and Talent Development Specialist is responsible for supporting training and development programs that enable every employee to build and grow meaningful careers at Delta. This role includes organizing the training committee, executing initiatives to drive upskilling and reskilling, supporting the organization's transformation goals, and implementing digital transformation efforts in training. You will collaborate with HR team members and internal stakeholders to design, deliver, and manage learning programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and engagement of employees across the Americas region.
Key responsibilities and tasks
1.Training
▪ Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and consultations with management.
▪ Design, develop and deliver training programs for various departments using a vari-ety of media and will cover both general and specific areas such as new hire train-ing, on-the job training, and advanced training courses.
▪ Facilitate the training committee to ensure alignment with organizational objec-tives.
▪ Develop the training materials for delivering Corporate's core competencies or general working skills.
▪ Lead virtual or in-person program logistics including program communications, co-ordination of vendor contracts and scheduling, space reservation, catering, audio visual (AV) and facilitator needs.
▪ Utilize the LMS, Academy, or other relevant learning management systems to man-age various training courses.
▪ Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities to ensure program effectiveness.
▪ Coordinate necessary HR training analysis, audits, and reports in a professional manner to monitor employee training and development process.
2.Talent Development
▪ Develop and execute the assessment to identify critical talents according to HQ's policy and suggestive tool.
▪ Maintain alignment between talent strategy and organizational capability-building roadmap.
▪ Support leadership decision-making in talent planning and pipeline development.
▪ Execute company LDC and TDC program.
Desired Skills and Experience

Position Summary
The incumbent's primary purpose is to serve as an Instructional Technologist for the Center for Teaching and Learning's Student Success efforts providing instructionaldesign and learning analytics support. This position reports to the director for the Center for Teaching and Learning in Academic Affairs. In addition to providing culturally responsive hybrid and online course design services for Center for Teaching and Learning core programs, responsibilities include management and assessment of special course design and faculty professional development projects as funded by Federal, State, and CSU system external grants that are administered through the center. Must be able to work collaboratively with a diversity of faculty and administrators across the university as well as private and public granting agencies. Job responsibilities include leading and developing professional development curriculum for workshops and faculty learning community programs. Must be a flexible learner capable of shifting technology focus as new teaching modalities and learning tools emerge.
FLSA: Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range: $6,492 per month (Step 1). Anticipated hiring rate is near or at the minimum of the classification salary range.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & HR Learning Strategy
Partner with HR, HRBPs, Talent Management, and People Leader Enablement to identify leadership capability gaps and performance management needs.
Conduct needs analyses to diagnose root causes behind leadership skill gaps and inform program recommendations.
Translate business, people, and culture goals into learning strategies that strengthen leadership effectiveness across GM.
Consult on modern leadership best practices including coaching, feedback, communications, inclusive leadership, and psychological safety.
Design & Development of Leadership Learning
Design and develop high-impact leadership learning content using ADDIE, SAM, and action-based learning approaches.
Build ILT/VILT curriculum, leadership workshops, toolkits, practice activities, and performance-support resources.
Create scenario-based, story-driven, and behavior-change frameworks tailored to leader challenges (e.g., underperformance, coaching conversations, conflict, prioritization, decision-making).
Design and develop multi‑modal learning solutions-including eLearning, interactive experiences, videos, job aids, and self‑paced leadership programs-and recommend post‑training reinforcement strategies to sustain learning and drive behavior change.
Ensure content reflects modern leadership science (neuroscience-informed behavior change, performance habits, coaching models, inclusive leadership principles).
Performance Management Expertise
Partner with HR and Talent to design programs for:
Effective performance conversations
Goal-setting & accountability
Coaching skills for leaders
Feedback best practices
Talent assessment and development planning
Embed PM frameworks and behavior models into practical, easy-to-apply learning assets.
Collaboration & Project Management
Partner with SMEs, HRBPs, and People Leader groups to validate content and ensure leadership programs reflect real GM leadership challenges.
Support Learning Program Managers (LPMs) in scoping project timelines, resourcing, and content sequencing.
Manage multiple leadership design projects simultaneously using agile design methods (SAM, rapid prototyping).
Partner with Communications and Change Management teams to align messaging and learner readiness.
Coordinate with LMS and learning operations to prepare materials for deployment.
Required Qualifications:
Portfolio Required: Demonstrated leadership learning assets including ILT/VILT content, performance-management modules, behavior-change design, and scenario-based learning.
10+ years of experience in instructionaldesign, leadership development design, talent development, or organizational development.
Experience designing ILT/VILT leadership programs-leadership, performance management, coaching, interpersonal skills, culture and inclusion.
Proven ability to design learning that drives actual behavior change (practice-based, scenario-based, action-based learning).
Strong understanding of leadership science, adult learning, and modern behavior-change design.

Compensation

USC Shoah Foundation's Education Department advances testimony-based education through innovative digital resources, curriculum, and professional development for educators and students worldwide.
The Senior Learning and Development Specialist designs, develops, and delivers high-quality, learning experiences that extend the reach of the Institute's Visual History Archive. This role blends subject expertise in Holocaust and genocide education with instructionaldesign and facilitation skills to create compelling, research-informed training, outreach initiatives, and content that cultivate deep knowledge, critical thinking, moral courage, and respect for human dignity.
Key Responsibilities
Empower Educators Through Training
Serve as program lead for Echoes & Reflections, USC Shoah Foundation's flagship Holocaust education partnership program
Build relationships with schools, districts, and educational partners to expand the reach of Holocaust education and testimony-based learning.
Develop and deliver in-person and online professional development for educators, equipping them to address antisemitism, prejudice, and injustice through testimony-based resources.
Lead the William P. Lauder Junior Intern Program, a program designed to cultivate deep knowledge, foster critical thinking, compassion, and civic responsibility in middle and high school students.
Create training materials, presentation decks, and supporting resources for varied audiences.
Craft Transformative Learning Materials
Design and produce testimony-based, standards-aligned curriculum, lesson plans, teacher guides, and multimedia learning materials for grades 6-12.
Curate audiovisual testimony and other primary sources from the Visual History Archive.
Apply best practices in instructionaldesign and civic education to ensure accessibility, engagement, and developmental appropriateness.
Collaborate with the content team to maintain quality, consistency, and alignment with strategic priorities.
Champion Quality & Purpose
Monitor training impact and quality through established evaluation processes.
Maintain accurate participation records for reporting and grant requirements.
This position is a two-year fixed term, grant-funded position based on USC's University Park Campus in Los Angeles, CA.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in education, history, curriculum design, or related field. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum 5 years combined experience in:
Holocaust and genocide education
Classroom teaching (K-12 or university level)
Strong facilitation and public speaking skills.
Proven ability to develop engaging, research-based educational content.
Strong teaching skills and ability to engage teachers and students.
Strong proficiency in digital learning platforms and Microsoft Office tools.

The annual base salary range for this position is $91,777.84-100,000.00.
