The personnel in this position shall be designated as primary handler for multiple animals, executing individual training plans for specific animals. As part of an integrated military function the MMS01 performs tasks related to the care and training of marine mammals for specific marine mammal projects. This position will require scuba diving and oversight of dive station tasking. Advanced scuba skills are required. Job will require working outdoors, on boats in adverse weather conditions. All new hires will have to pass a swim & dive test. Personnel must be able to work flexible work hours including weekends and holidays. Deter the presence of nuisance animals following established NIWC processes and procedures. A requirement for this position includes the ability to travel with animals for extended periods of time anywhere in the world, to include potentially harsh environmental and high risk locations, within 72 hours' notice. As a Hot Work Coordinator, you will: + Accomplish duties and responsibilities as Hot Work Coordinator (HWC) in accordance with Navsea standard item 009-08, having the sole function of coordinating hot work notification and execution for all contractor hot work performed daily during assigned ship repair project. + Receive, manage, and process hot work permits with ships force and contractor personnel, being the central point of contact in processing and coordinating all shipboard hot work. + Maintain required daily logs of hot work being conducted onboard ship, being accountable for knowing all hot work in progress at any given day and time, documenting hot work start and end times for assigned shift. + The HWC to attend meetings daily with project team/contractors/ships force/customer, addressing hot work conflicts of various contractor and shipboard work, and participation in Fire Safety Council (FSC) meetings in providing hot work information as requested. Work and communicate with assigned ship repair Project management team, trade and subcontractor personnel, and Government AIT groups the limitations of daily submitted hot work permits and the limitations of same-day hot work permit submittals. + Prioritize hot work allocation based on ship project Integrated Production Schedule (IPS) and de-conflict production work by ship compartment areas in support of ship safety and project team direction. + The HWC to generate and submit required reports via Condition Found Report (CFR) documenting the weekly recap of hot work permits submitted and executed, with related information of those hot work permits why they were not executed as planned. Work with the project team IPS to identify and summarize in a report the two-week forecast of planned hot work and submit as a required report. + Work with designated ships force hot work responsible representatives, the ship s Fire Marshalls, in reviewing and submitting planned daily hot work permits, addressing any concerns from ships force on the safety requirements, and communicate with applicable hot work teams for safety awareness and production work de-confliction. + Conduct the job duties and responsibilities of the assigned project Hot Work Coordinator in accordance with BAE Operations Procedure. Review and become knowledgeable of BAE Hot Work Operations Procedure, including personnel responsibilities and safety requirements. + The HWC to understand the IPS and what project managers are working on a daily basis to ensure hot work permits are not being worked during any event to where hot work would be secured (painting, ammo transfer, fuel transfer, etc.). The HWC shall deconflict any issues/discrepancies with each hot work permit to the Hot Work Supervisor and Ships Management Team as required. + The HWC is required to discuss daily any issues/concerns regarding hot work to the Supervisor and Ships Force. The HWC's job is extremely vital on each project, knowingly having an impact on project schedule and budget performance of planned hot work permits not worked. Safety is the number one priority for the HWC. The HWC shall be fully involved in each permit by reviewing for accuracy prior to submitting to ships force. + The HWC position requires working in shipyard environment, exposed to shipboard production generated noise and walking through production work areas onboard ship with PPE and safety awareness at all times. Daily work areas are onboard ship compartments, meeting with designated representatives responsible for the planned hot work, documenting start and end times of hot work being conducted for assigned shift, and maintaining daily hot work log as required. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + High School Diploma or GED + Minimum 2 years work experience performing contractor work in ship repair, exposed to the hot work permit requirements, shipboard fire prevention, and safety procedures. + Knowledge of Hot Work process and requirements in accordance with Navsea standard items. + Working knowledge of shipboard compartment layout, the meaning of adjacent compartments relative to contractor work, and able to maneuver through a ship via decks and blkhds to locate any given shipboard area and compartments. + Able to review each submitted permit for clarity and what to look for on a permit (adjacent spaces, type of hot work, etc). + Understand the IPS and what the other Ship Superintendents are working on daily to ensure hot work permits are not being authorized during any event to where hot work would be secured (ammo transfer, fuel transfer, etc). + Ability to deconflict any issues/discrepancies with each hot work permit to the Hot Work Supervisor and Ships Management Team if required while on the deck plates or in the office. + Good communication and organizational skills. + Ability to work with and speak to large groups of people with the basis understanding of shipboard safety, fire prevention and the hot work process. + Working knowledge of Microsoft based computer programs specifically WORD and Excel to develop and submit reports to customer via CFR process. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Familiar with US Navy structure of shipboard personnel and respective working departments onboard Navy ships. + Previous work experience as Hot Work Coordinator, working in a ship repair contractor environment for the US Navy. + Familiar with different types of hot work performed onboard ship as contractor work scope + Knowledge and participation of Fire Safety Council (FSC) meetings with all required contractor, Government, and ships force personnel. + PAI certification. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $48438 - $77500 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
