Job Description:
Shall have the capability to lead the analysis, design, and optimization of turbomachinery for liquid rocket engine systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the design and performance analysis of inducers, impellers, volutes, pumps, turbines, and other associated rotating machinery operating in cryogenic and high temperature environments. This role requires strong understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and hydrodynamics, and their application to high-speed turbomachinery Shall have a strong understanding of cavitation and NPSH analysis, rotor-stator interaction, tip leakage flows, secondary flow losses, high-temperature turbine cooling techniques Familiarity with engine cycles (gas generator, staged combustion, expander, etc.), cryogenic propellants, high-speed rotating equipment reliability May coordinate risk and opportunity management for development and production programs
Essential Functions:
65% - Perform all or a combination of analysis related to thermodynamics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and computational fluid dynamics. Responsible for utilizing a combination of commercial and in-house developed software tools, and/or hand calculation methods to correlate analysis models and review test data.
15% - Strengthens the technical capacity of the Company and facilitates transfer of technology by mentoring less experienced engineers and team members.
10% - Produce analysis reports and test reports. Present analysis to both internal and external customers.
10% - Support verification tests. Work with designers and project engineers by providing analysis support.
Skills:
Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or the equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 9 years of experience Strong background in aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Licensed State of California Professional Geologist or Engineer

Possession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher
Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (Sanitas software knowledge a plus)
Experience with collecting environmental field data including groundwater, surface water, leachate, and landfill gas

The California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) is hiring an Environmental Scientist (ES) to serve as a Biodiversity Program Manager to help advance OPC's strategic priorities related to coastal, marine, and estuarine biodiversity. The Environmental Scientist will support efforts to conserve 30 percent of California's coastal waters by 2030, adaptively manage California's marine protected area network, improve coordinated monitoring and data management, and stregthen conservation at the land-sea interface. Overall, this role will be responsible for supporting implementation of OPC's mission and California Natural Resources Agency's (CNRA) policy initiatives, which include embedding equity and environmental justice into programs and actions to enhance, protect, and restore biodiversity.
Applicants should have a strong scientific background, working knowledge of coastal and ocean issues and stakeholders in California, and experience working on projects and/or research related to coastal, marine, and estuarine biodiversity in California or elsewhere. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to become proficient in new and emerging topics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks are a must. Specific knowledge and experience related to coastal and/or marine protection, biological and environmental monitoring, the land-sea interface, and data management is preferred. Experience working with the state's natural resource management agencies is beneficial, but not required.

Working Conditions
Location:
This position requires reporting in person at Natural Resources Agency headquarters located at 715 P Street in Sacramento for a minimum of two times a week. OPC staff are currently required at headquarters a minimum of two days a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Flexible Work Schedule:
This position is considered Remote Centered which means the incumbent would telework 50% or more of the time within a work month from an alternate work location. The incumbent can telework with a management approved telework agreement and schedule. This position is eligible for partial teleworking in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, but the incumbent will be required to report to the office as needed/required.

Under the close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, Supervisor, the incumbent will conduct state and federal pesticide product compliance inspections, investigations, and follow-up on complaints and referrals; including those related to DPR's Cannabis program. As part of the Enforcement Headquarters Branch, you will be part of a team that promotes a safe, fair, and equitable marketplace by ensuring all who sell pesticides in California comply with pesticide registration.
Duties include, but are not limited to: conducting field inspections/investigations of pesticide products; collecting pesticideproduct samples in the marketplace to determine compliance with established federal and state laws; respond to written,verbal and electronic questions from individuals, pesticide sellers, stakeholders or the public; collect relevant and reliableevidence to support findings of a violation; and attend trainings, workshops and seminars as needed.

Working Conditions
* The incumbent will work in a single-floor building, under artificial lighting; and sit for moderate periods of time.
* Frequent statewide travel may be required.
* The collection of samples and conducting inspections as indicated for this position requires the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds, bend, squat, and climb over boxes, containers, or pallets.
* Travel by automobile or air may be required to different areas of the State.
