This Clinical Lab Scientist Float opportunity is full time and offers a convenient night shift schedule. This individual will float to three of our Free Standing EDs located in Reno and Sparks, NV. You will be responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Ability to function independently in all areas of the clinical laboratory: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology and serology/immunology and phlebotomy.
Responsible for performing high-complexity testing
Demonstrates knowledge of expected lab values for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient
Notifies patient caregiver and/or physician of critical lab values

Job Description
The Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR) at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks a thoughtful and innovative postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team developing autonomous drone systems for wildfire prevention.
This NASA-funded position, in close collaboration with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center scientists, offers a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge robotics to protect communities and ecosystems from catastrophic wildfires.
Working alongside experts in robotics, forest ecology, remote sensing, and fire science, you'll be developing autonomous navigation systems that enable drones to fly safely beneath forest canopies, collecting critical data that current technologies cannot capture. This meaningful work directly supports forest managers in making informed decisions that safeguard both human communities and natural ecosystems.
Candidates should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, close-knit team, as well as the ability to perform fieldwork in mountain forest environments, including hiking on uneven terrain while carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs) and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
We value a supportive, collaborative environment where team members can grow both professionally and personally while contributing to impactful research. This grant is funded for 3 years. The initial appointment is for one year with a planned extension based on funding continuation and satisfactory performance.
Duties: Working closely with a small, dedicated team, you will:
Design and implement SLAM-based navigation algorithms for GPS-denied forest environments (45%)
Develop multi-sensor integration software for LiDAR, cameras, and IMU/GNSS systems (30%)
Support flight operations and field deployments at forest test sites (20%)
Share your work through publications and open-source contributions (5%)
Required Qualifications
PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Demonstrated expertise in SLAM, preferably aerial SLAM projects

Key Responsibilities
* Lead bioinformatics analysis for large-scale genomic and metagenomic datasets derived from Opuntia and other desert-adapted plants.

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Researcher - Plant Bioinformatics and Systems Genomics Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Dr. Won C. Yim's laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to a multi-institutional, federally funded project focused on improving the productivity of Opuntia (cactus pear) as a sustainable bioenergy feedstock through integrated genomic, metagenomic, and systems-level modeling of plant-microbe-soil interactions. This position provides a unique opportunity to work at the interface of plant genomics, metagenome analysis, and computational systems biology, in collaboration with researchers at national laboratories (PNNL, NREL) and USDA research centers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead bioinformatics analysis for large-scale genomic and metagenomic datasets derived from Opuntia and other desert-adapted plants.
* Develop, optimize, and deploy genome assembly, annotation, and functional profiling pipelines using long-read and Hi-C sequencing data.
* Integrate genomic and metagenomic results to identify key determinants of productivity and stress resilience in Opuntia.
* Collaborate with molecular biologists, computational scientists, and agronomists to translate omics insights into physiological and ecological interpretations.
* Prepare data visualizations, manuscripts, and conference presentations for dissemination of project results.
Required Qualifications
* PhD in plant biology, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field.
* Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
* The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
* The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with NGS data analysis and Linux based HPC environments.
* Programming skills in Python or R and experience with Git.
* Evidence of research productivity through peer reviewed publications.
Schedule and Travel
Schedule is Monday through Friday during normal business hours, with some flexibility in start and end times. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines or support time sensitive analyses.

Prepare and review of work plans, technical documents, and reports for federal, state, and local agencies

Your Impact
* Lead the research, design, and deployment of large‑scale foundation models for machine‑generated data - primarily time series, augmented with logs traces, and events.
* Optimize distributed training and inference pipelines to maximize accuracy, performance, and efficiency at scale.
* Work closely with engineering, product, and data science to ensure solutions meet defined technical requirements and deliver tangible business impact.

Minimum Qualifications:
* PhD in Computer Science, or related quantitative field, plus 1+ years of industry research experience.

* Solid proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
* Experience translating research ideas into production systems.

* Deep Learning for Time Series & Forecasting - Proven expertise designing and deploying architectures such as temporal transformers, temporal convolutional networks, and spatial‑temporal models.

The starting salary range posted for this position is $174,500.00 to $226,500.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.
U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco's policies:
* 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees
* 1 paid day off for employee's birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
* Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
* Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
* 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
* Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
* Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
* .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
* 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
* 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
* Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
