About the Role
The impact you'll be contributing to Moloco:
The Research Science (RS) team focuses on the operation and optimization of our software systems working closely with infrastructure engineering teams, machine learning teams and data science teams. POSITION SUMMARY
Umoja is seeking a Scientist to join the Discovery Research team. This is a fully onsite role based out of our Seattle, WA location.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead by demonstrating high standards for experiment design, execution, documentation, analysis, and communication.
Solve moderately complex technical problems pertaining to product, experiment, and assay design.
Perform experimental design, execution, data analysis, and reporting of results for IND-enabling studies.
Design and implement novel screening campaigns to explore new product functionalities.

Audit Benchling entries and perform data verification.
Collaborate closely with adjacent departments.

The successful candidate will have:
PhD/MS/BS in Biological Science, Immunology or related discipline with at least 0+/8+/10+ years of relevant work experience respectively
Expertise with platforms used for T cell analysis including the MSD, Incucyte, dPCR, and Attune/Aurora (or other flow cytometers).
Experience with high-throughput screening methodologies.

It will also allow us to find our customer's niche interests, helping them discover groups of titles that they didn't even know existed. Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Assistant Entomologist (Public Health Scientist) for the Office of Plant Services. The duty post for this position is located at 1110 W. Washington Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.
The Department of Agriculture's, Plant Services Section, safeguards agriculture, food and the environment from the risks associated with the entry, establishment and spread of plant pests, diseases and noxious weeds thereby promoting agricultural sustainability, market access and competitiveness.
Using state-of-the-art technical equipment, including performance graphics-enabled computers, high resolution digital cameras, compound and dissection microscopes, and complex scientific literature, the position of Assistant Entomologist is primarily responsible for the correct determination of insect and other arthropod samples submitted to the Entomology Section from the division's survey, inspection, and regulatory branches. Another important focus of the position is to work with the Entomologist and advise the division's Associate Director on scientific matters as they pertain to pest biology and economic impact. Additionally, the position is charged with assisting in maintaining both a digital and printed reference library as well as assisting in the development and maintenance of digital and actual pest reference collection and training materials needed for comparative determinations.
Job Duties:
Job duties to include but limited to:
• Correct and timely screening, identification, and risk assessment of samples submitted to the section from the division's survey, inspection, and regulatory branches. These analyses and determinations are integral to EPSD's ability to safeguard the state's agriculture and horticultural industries, food production, and the environment from the establishment and spread of harmful plant pests, while promoting agricultural sustainability and market access in a national and global context.
• Assist in developing pest ID training materials for the division's regulatory inspectors so they can carry out their assigned duties more effectively.
• Research and study technical scientific reports regarding pest biology and the agricultural impact looking into emerging potential emerging pest pressures.
• Assist the Entomologist in the development of outreach material for stakeholders, customers, and the general public to be used on the agencies expanding social media and public representation.
• Driving a State vehicle as needed to carry out assigned duties including inspection and survey projects, training programs, and participation in regional conferences and seminars.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Knowledge of science and scientific procedures, entomology, invertebrate systematics, biology, and evolution; invertebrate pest epidemiology; advanced microscope, computer, and digital imaging systems; of Federal and State regulations and quarantines, principles and practices.
SKILLS IN:
Skills in verbal and written communication and report production; developing and using advanced computer databases, spreadsheets, and other office and/or scientifically related software and hardware; effective instructional techniques and procedures; in preparing samples for analysis; operating, maintaining, and calibrating specialized microscope and digital imaging systems; in efficient workload organization.
ABILITY TO:
Ability to establish and maintain an effective and productive working relationship with co-workers and management in a team setting; to research, organize and analyze and then interpret scientific research as it relates to regulatory entomology. Drive state vehicle.
Selective Preference(s):
A combination of experience, knowledge and skills relating to invertebrate taxonomy, laboratory skills, chemical safety and plant pathology.

What You'll Need
Strong software engineering and coding skills in Python, with experience contributing to production codebases
9+ years of experience developing and deploying ML models end-to-end - from research and prototyping to implementation in production systems
Hands-on experience with deep learning architectures, including ConvNets, Transformers, or similar

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is $238,400 - $327,800 annually, plus RSUs and bonuses. Temporary
Research Scientist to join the Reproductive, Genitourinary and Digestive (RGUD) disease estimation team.
IHME Research Scientists analyze and produce key estimates for their assigned research team, contribute to research design and training, and lead and/or mentor junior staff. We are looking for someone ready to advance in their career in global health research. You will assess all available relevant quantitative data, including individual-level and aggregated data from surveys, vital registration, censuses, cohort studies, registries, administrative records, government reports, and published scientific literature. You will lead the development and execution of analytic strategies, determining which strategies to test and how best to deploy statistical methods and coding techniques necessary for producing estimates, with emphasis on the long-term and intergenerational impacts of sexually transmitted infections (excluding HIV). You will be responsible for presenting results for internal critique, incorporating necessary feedback into updates and running models to formulate high-quality final deliverables. You will also lead the development of manuscripts, reports, presentations, and similar outputs.
You will be integrally involved in producing, critiquing, improving, and disseminating results. You are someone who is capable of keeping your team on track to meet deadlines and research objectives. You already have a publication record, and at IHME, you will build out your portfolio with several peer-reviewed papers. You thrive in a collaborative work environment and are capable of working on multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines. You keep current of recent scientific, engineering, and technical advances and are able to translate these into your research. This position is contingent upon project funding.
Responsibilities:
Exhibit command of the team's research areas, including the methodology and its components.
Independently carry out quantitative analyses and participate in reciprocal research projects. Interpret and vet results from junior staff, formulate conclusions, and inform team leaders.
Develop, quality check, and distribute complex datasets to be used in epidemiological and statistical analyses.
Develop and implement new computational and statistical methods. Write, test, and maintain code in Python or R, with a willingness to learn and adapt to additional programming languages as needed. Maintain, modify, and execute analytic machinery that generates results.
Assist in drafting presentations and manuscripts, and contribute to the preparation of funding proposals.
Lead and co-author scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Maintain scientific awareness and intellectual agility with data, methods, and analytic techniques.
May lead and/or mentor junior staff.
Contribute ideas and content for internal and external training materials to enhance understanding and effective use of IHME tools and data. May participate in teaching established trainings.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, math, economics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline plus four years' related experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated understanding of the common measurement methods and study designs employed in analytic observational epidemiology, their biases and limitations, and available approaches to adjust measurements to support valid causal inference.
